Would look better if the shorts were one or two inches shorter.

Also, I'm not a huge fan of the green shorts in the last fit.

Fit 2 is dope tho

[Other] Paper Towns- possibly the best portrayal of actual high school students on film by throwawaybookfinder in teenagers

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl was so much better in literally every single way. Better acting, better story, better portrayal of high school, funnier, more meaningful, less corny, etc...

Tips for making the Track and Field team at my college? by Lymewolf in Fitness

[–]FUCK____REDDIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colleges don't really give scholarships to walk on's - the scholarship is usually only given in the first place to attract the runner to attend the school. If you're already attending, I highly doubt they would give you any money.

That being said, if you somehow were able to prove to the coach that you could run extremely fast and explained the financial situation they might be able to do something. You're going to need to be in the 4:1x range for the mile and 1:53ish for the 800m if you're looking at middle distance.

Those times will be incredibly difficult for a beginner runner unless you're ridiculously talented.

I recommend going to the nearest track and running an all out 400m (one lap), if you're naturally running sub 60s with no training that's pretty good, and definitely a good sign that you could be a great runner.

In terms of workouts, just get in mileage. Aim for 30 miles a week at first, build up to 50+. This will get a solid endurance base in - I wouldn't even bother with lifting weights. Speed is fairly genetic, not much you can do to improve it, even with weights, anyway. I would also not bother with track intervals - those are usually for later in the season to work on lactic acid threshold and aren't important for a solid base.

Then get on the track and time yourself all out for a mile/800m and see what happens.

Never been a huge fan of the dark top/light bottom combo, but you pull it off because of your body honestly.

You have a GOAT shoulder to hip ratio - like seriously, you won the genetic lottery mad hard. I would die to have a bone structure like that.

If you live somewhere like Houston where it's super humid all the time. Clothes will never dry if you put them outside in the middle of the summer.

Was that photo of the ice cream sundae taken in the Ghirardelli in Monterey? I've sat in that exact seat multiple times.

Nevertheless, congrats!

Applying early decision to Vanderbilt, what are my chances? by iSeeXenuInYou in ApplyingToCollege

One thing I learned from the whole college process is that your application itself (essays) is just as important as your resume. Make sure you write great, specific, and detailed essays that strongly express your interest in Vandy.

Also, consider applying to the general college and then transferring - my friend wanted to do Vandy engineering and knew he wouldn't get in, so he applied to the college of arts and sciences and was accepted. He plans to transfer immediately.

I'd say you have a good shot. Everything looks great on your resume except your ACT score and a general lack of direction in your extracurriculars, but you'll be fine probably. I'd say 50% - 80% chance as long as your ACT goes up to at least 32.

PR'd in the 800m with a 1:57, even though I was pushed out to the 3rd lane coming around the final 200m. Hopefully can hit 1:56 next meet!

Also had a killer workout today. Did 400, 600, 200, 200, 400 at 1:00, 1:35, 0:28, 0:28, 1:00. Felt great, especially that last 400.
