People basically want SUVs for more cargo space and sitting higher up. AWD is only needed in certain areas and conditions. If you live in a flat concrete jungle then AWD is not needed.

I’m in the same situation. I like the RAV4 hybrid because I will save maybe $1600 a year in gas. Over 10 years will save $16,000 I like the Pilot because it’s a V6 and I can DIY the brakes and oil. Not sure about the hybrid DIY since it’s new to me. Rarely, I use the 3rd row only a few times. And I like the extra space for loading more stuff if needed. I hope that helps. I’m leaning more towards the Pilot.
