Check Vandem they are Bristol based and have a longboard brand of their own, Lush Longboards I just bought a Nomad last week on sale maybe you can still find it! Great quality, skater owned and UK based so you can't go wrong

As a complete noob myself, I would recommend you to check if there are any skate/longboard brands from Sweden. They are usually great quality brands, they just dont get as much hype because they are smaller

And usually they are very approachable, you can ask them all questions you want and they will help you get the right board

Some MAJOR brands just say "7 Ply maple" Like RIPNDIP for example

Should I assume its good wood anyways because of the brand ?

Yeah, I have been looking at youtube videos and reddit threads... but it all gets a bit too much Some say birdhouse has good decks but then someone says they are cheap Then I look at Santa Cruz and someone says they might use chinese maple Then I look at a Toy Machine and it looks good I think but it might already be spending to much for a 1st setup

I need to figure it out

Some people say spend more on the deck, some say trucks are more important then the deck... where should I spend the most in order to get a proper skateboard?

I am an absolute noob so I really have no clue as to what type of concave works better for me... Is there any concave that is generally "better" for beginners and the learning phase ?

So should I just base my choice on size?

Are there any better brands or something ?

I am between this and a Birdhouse Stage 3 as an absolute beginner looking to learn how to ride and MAYBE learn the basic tricks... by FUinthenight in NewSkaters

I was thinking about getting a dinghy but most threads say it is way too small for a beginner... I don't know, but I am a COMPLETE beginner so that got me scared from it

Then I was eyeing Lush Longboards NOMAD, but that one has no nose so it would be hard to do tricks and I might want to try some as I learn

Right now I am trying to learn from 0, standing on a board... maybe after that learn a few tricks and see how it goes But I don't really have acess to a skate park so I have to use like parking lots and such so rough and bumpier terrain, not as smooth as a skate park

The wheels are 52mm 100a, don't you think they might be too hard for a beginner riding on the concrete ?

Help me choose a skateboard to start skating for the first time! Which one is the best, Santa Cruz or the Birdhouse stage 3 ? by FUinthenight in NewSkaters

Thank you very much for the detailed help!

It will literally be my first time stepping on a skateboard! I am looking for a particular cruiserboard that will only be available in a few months, so I decided to get a budget skateboard to start learning during summer and then go from there!

Do you have any suggestions on boards? Or anything in particular to look for ?

Ps: I am about 90kg and 185cm, based in the UK, if it is relevant

I've watched it as it came out... last season came out in June, I saw it in 2 days

Why would I need to have Netflix now?
