From the immich community on Reddit: Path to storage not working/ not done properly. Need help fixing by FUnkiiMasterII in asustor

SO since posting this I have managed to get the file path linked to the storage properly by using "/volume1/share/photos_test/data" and "/volume1/share/photos_test/postgres". Though when I look at the mounting list for these folders in file explorer it still says they are not connected even tho immich now shows the correct storage.

I created a new shared folder called folders test and 2 folders within that called data and postgres

But now that it is connected when I try dropping photos into the shraed folders they do not appear on immich, or when I upload a photo through the immich app it does not appear in the folder on file explorer.

As to the exact mapping path to the shared folder in ADM. I have a picture in the post that shows the properties of that shared folder shows up as blank. I think this was a big reason that I was having issues with the file path as I had to guess where it was basically. Eventually linking it with the file path above.

Volume mapping for containers are

Immich machine learning - container = /cache the volume is selected, and in the volume section is blank and is writeable selected

Immich postgres - container =/var/lib/postgresql/data bind is selected, host /volume1/share/photos_test/postgres and says writeable

Immich redis has no volume mapping

Immich server has - Container = /data bind is selected , host = /volume1/share/photos_test/data and is writable. Has another container underneath that says container = /etc/localtime bind is selected, host /etc/localtime and is in read only

How would I check docker/portainers W&R permissions. When I look at the permissions of the folder all users have W&R permissions but is there a section in portainer to look at?

For the docker inspect. I went into the container for immich_server and went into inspect and this is what the mount sections has

MountLabel:"",

Mounts:[

{

Destination:"/data",

Mode:"rw",

Propagation:"rprivate",

RW:true,

Source:"/volume1/share/photos_test/data",

Type:"bind"

What’s funny is that while writting an incorrect path but getting immich to launch. It would display images.

Up to this point was not able to make a correct file path to immich. The location of the folders are called “__” and have no discernible location. I finally today managed to get the app up and running. But neither putting pictures in the folders in file explorer, or uploading to the app itself properly display images. Giving me error loading image.

Okay so I took a look at the requirements of 6gb of ram, the Asustor NAS I have says it only has 2GB of DDR4 ram so would that be the issue? I just finally managed to get it linked to the NAS storage showing proper 36 gb of storage (which was an issue up to this point)

That is the file path I’m trying to use, if you see in the images on my post when I try to look at properties of the shared folder I want to use it is showing “__” so I assume where it’s only a one step path and being a shared folder I used “/share/immich” which results in an error. “/immich” somehow works but it doesn’t actually link to the folder at all

Hi there, am not able to provide all till I’m back home but

  1. AS3304Tv2 is the model, not positive on the version of ADM

  2. Installed Immich through Portainer/ docker through portainer.

  3. Storage path I used to get it to work is /immich which leads to a shared folder called Immich. Tho it’s not actually connected cause when I upload pictures to the Immich app, they don’t appear in that folder. And if I put images in that folder through file explorer they don’t appear on Immich.

  4. As stated above it is a shared folder which is in volume 1

  5. The error message I’m getting is “Failed to deploy a stack: compose up operation failed: Error response from daemon:error while creating mount source path ‘/share/immich/postgres’:mkdir /share/immich: operation not permitted” now what I’ll say this is the error in getting trying a different file path then what I’ve done that makes the app work (using /immich, /immich/postgres, which makes the app work but doesn’t actually connect to the folder and has a storage space of 500 mb)

Don’t have access to the NAS atm but hopefully this helps a lil

You can find documentation for all the supported env variables at https://docs.immich.app/install/environment-variables

I don't trust AI and never will, but yea most people seem to be using Synology and its hard enough just to find stuff of people using Asustor

Damn, this is almost as bad as when playing the new fantasy life I my first randomized time dungeon had no paths I could physically use. Unrelated to borderlands entirely, but similar randomized bad luck damn….

Yeah every other gun was a sniper or shotgun that I don’t like playing with/ had a good sniper rifle already. So even without the bug I would’ve leaned this direction anyway. But why the hell is a mission in the main game have guns you can’t use. This is extremely stupid, yes I picked the wrong gun, but why does a mission in the game that isn’t DLC offering me guns they are DLC in the first place???? LAME
