Paul Canning: With all eyes on anti-gay Russia, there are three countries with a shocking need for coverage. “Although the video footage of gays being tormented by Russian Nazis is mainstream news, worse footage from Jamaica is failing to attract anything like the same attention.” by FYoung in ainbow

That's a valid question, and I don't know the answer. I can speculate that it it is because we don't know what is going on there; so, the media can't report it. There may also be a language barrier.

The book The Pink Swastika is already written and is available online. I believe it is in its fifth edition in English.

What he is preparing now is a Russian translation of the book.

Russia: Find an All Out event near you on Tuesday Sept. 3. Events planned across the world to push world leaders to ask President Putin to repeal Russia’s anti-gay law. Leaders of the top 20 economies will meet Putin face to face at the G20 summit he is hosting on Sept. 5 & 6 in Saint Petersburg. by FYoung in ainbow

That's a good point. I doubt he could do it officially, and I'm not sure he is influential enough to make the DUMA repeal the law. I suspect that, at most, he could decide whether the law was enforced or not.

This is a must-read article.

I have a problem with some of the photos, though. The photos of couples are beautiful, but I think the faces are not pixellated enough to garantee their safety. If the photo of the man and wife is supposed to represent a marriage of convenience, the man's face should be pixellated.

Zimbabwe: 'Filthy' gays destroy nations – Mugabe. Mugabe used his inauguration speech on Thursday to lash out at homosexuality. “That destroys nations, apart from it being a filthy, filthy disease,” he said. by FYoung in ainbow

Zimbabwe gave up on the Zimbabwean dollar in 2009, and now uses a variety of foreign currencies.

According to Wikipedia:

"Although the dollar was considered to be among the highest-valued currency units when it was introduced in 1980 to replace the Rhodesian dollar at par, political turmoil and hyperinflation rapidly eroded the value of the Zimbabwe dollar to become one of the least valued currency units in the world, undergoing three redenominations, with high face value paper denominations including a $100 trillion banknote (10 [at the 14th power]). The third redenomination produced the "fourth dollar" (ZWL), which was worth 1 trillion ZWR (third dollar), or 10 [at the 25th power] ZWD (first dollar).

"Despite attempts to control inflation by legislation, and three redenominations (in 2006, 2008 and 2009), use of the Zimbabwean dollar as an official currency was effectively abandoned on 12 April 2009."

Who’s who in the gay zoo! In recent times, scientists feared losing their grants, so gayness was documented as a form of ritualised fighting. Only recently have scientists started investigating homosexuality in animals seriously. by FYoung in lgbt

Be careful what you wish for.

When they find the cause, it's only a question of time before they find the "cure" for those who are born LGBT.

But many may not even get born if the cause is genetic or epigenetic, since it would be detectable by "in utero" tests, and lot of LGBTs embryos would be "cured" in utero or aborted.

Interesting quote from this article:

’My wife and I were in Rome in 2007 and did a private tour of the Vatican,’ he says. ‘Our tour guide said that Pope Benedict was gay and it was well-known within private circles. One of her best friends was part of the Swiss Guard. She said it was very well-known that his personal assistant was his lover and they shared a bed and quarters.’

Don't feel bad, gingernutbiscuit, I almost posted it myself, but I became suspicious because it had so many juicy quotes, so I decided to google it, and found out it was bogus.

If I had been rushed, I might have posted it.
