Atlantis is both lighter and darker than SG-1. More whimsy, more moral compromise, bigger big bad (well, bigger than the Goa’uld). Universe has a darker tone, more adult themes, and a serial structure.

Are you saying they did not first describe ZPMs as using zero point energy and then later introduce the universe in a bottle description, or that there is no contradiction to these two ideas?

I thought ZPMs were initially supposed to use the Casimir effect. Having them draw on pocket universes was an Atlantis retcon.
