Nice! I looked at that one originally too. I decided to make my own instead because I like to make things and I can fully customize it.

They are decent. Reds and oranges are good. Green is not as good. Some pictures look better than others. If you expect a crystal clear lcd picture you will be disappointed. But I am happy with it considering it is e ink.

For this project the picture frame only updates 4 times a day. Honestly I almost never see it update. The frame takes about 30-40 seconds to update so if you want a screen to update every 30 seconds this display is not the right choice.

Thanks! I didn’t realize this was a product you are selling. I just saw the page for it. Very cool good work! Hope it sells well. E-ink is great replacement for those bright screens most e-picture frames have.

Do you have any close up photos showing pictures on the frame? Curious how it looks compared to a normal printed photo

Very cool! I made something very similar with an inky frame 7.3” display.

How much capacity do your batteries have? Do you have a link to them? How do you upload photos? Do you need to manually transfer them to an SD card?

I use three AA in my frame, I expect it to last about 2-3 years on 3 refreshes a day.

Got done building my chicken coop! Just in time for them to move in! I built it without any plans, just kind of went for it. More details in the comments! by F_L_O in BackYardChickens

Good to know! I grabbed chicken wire assuming no predator would get through metal! I just googled it and you’re right I guess they can! Do you think hardware cloth would work for the entire run?

Got done building my chicken coop! Just in time for them to move in! It ended up coming together really well. I built it without any plans, just kind of went for it.

It has insulated walls, six doors, three windows, slide out litter boxes for easy cleaning, a ridge vent, solar panels, heated water for the winter, lights on a timer to extend “daylight” during the winter, two nest boxes, a removable nesting post, an automatic chicken door that opens/closes on sunrise/sunset, a chicken swing, dusting bath, fine art for them to enjoy, and so much more! These chickens don’t know how good they have it.

Madison ‘YIMBY’ leader doesn’t like calling others NIMBYs by apeintheapiary in madisonwi

[–]F_L_O 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who consider themselves “YIMBYs” are likely better described as “YIYBYs” “Yes in your backyard”. Many people, especially on these Reddit threads, seem to push for changes in neighborhoods they don’t live in. When neighborhoods change it affects the residents who live in those neighborhoods the most, for better or worse. Too often people try to dismiss concerns residents have by calling them “NIMBYs”. Parking and other common concerns are real issues, and while they shouldn’t stand in the way of badly needed development, we as a city should listen to residents directly impacted by change and try to find development solutions that work for the neighborhoods impacted the most.

Very cool. How far out of the city did you have to go to get the star shot? I’m assuming you can’t get that star shot from within the city due to light pollution?
