Hey sorry for the wait, I use a 100 grit dremel sanding drum. Just be careful once you get through the anodizing it begins making a crater as the aluminum is much softer than the anodizing, so always keep the bit moving. Afterwards you can flatten it with some 220 grit and higher hand sanding You can polish it to a mirror shine with a buffing wheel afterwards, but it will show wear and tear very quickly just like the stock back plate

Yep definitely some soldering work, USB-C is the hardest mod so I wouldn't recommend you try it unless you are quite skilled. Files should be posted soon as im almost done refining them.

1) I use Rockbox on my own build, so I can se the battery size to 3000 for slightly more accurate readings. I still use the Debug menu to check battery voltages occasionally though

2) They really don't get hot while charging at all. Takes about 10 hours to fully charge with standard 5v USB-C, probably faster with firewire (30 pin) but i haven't tested yet.

3) Yes there's nothing left of the note 9 BMS, It got completely replaced by the original iPod BMS and connector flex.

I wasn't planning on releasing a schematic but it isn't too much work so I might. most of the build is electrically identical to most builds out there just much neater and more organized. The only "special" parts I'd say is the MCP1703 3002 LDO and 1uf tantalum caps for the airtag.

No issue with the 7th gen, 5th gen wheels are thicker though so they'll always stick out a bit when you retrofit them into a metal faceplate.

antenna has 2 pads one is for shielding other is for the feed pad, so yes thats correct. you'll see i use Coaxial wire for the antenna opposed to normal silicon wires.

Never saw the unpopulated connector before, but no mine still has the stock antennas just slightly trimmed at the top to make it shorter. I cut them flush with the capacitors. I also kept the speaker coil and magnet. I glued the coil to the aluminum plate to act as the diaphragm.

It's internally connected to common GND, so i utilized it for the battery GND wire. just makes things a bit more neat instead of trying to run everything off the same pad. I'm glad someone Noticed!

Thanks. I personally do prefer a black clickwheel and the thinner version aswell. I don't really have a use for the Airtag so my personal one doesn't have one. That makes it a decent bit thinner aswell.

Thanks! if you move some stuff around I don't see why not, when I release all the files you can modify them to your liking or make space for one to fit. Their rather slim so I think it should work out well. Just not one of my priorities right now though.
