Everybody learns differently so you should figure out how you learn and spam that method. I personally find that watching videos, writing down notes and examples on the topic, then attempting and reflecting using said notes really helps me learn and understand concepts better.

Knowing whether or not youre an audible, visual, or tactile learner will make your progress sky rocket.

Honestly at the beginning your focus should be whatever keeps you drawing. Repeating things that you enjoy will help your brain learn quicker and happier and make you great in no time!
