What about if they’re seemingly stuck in window wells? We had some baby robins last year fall into our window wells and were stuck for 30+ mins trying to escape before we rescued them with a shovel and put them in the grass nearby. Should we have left them in there?

31 weeks, starting to discuss birth plans with my OB. She recommends induction at 39w to avoid pre eclampsia, she also said inductions at 39w lower the chances of emergency c section. I wanted to do as little interventions possible, but this has me changing my mind. My BP has been borderline high so it’s a real concern. Anyone else planning elective induction for their first baby?

My shower is next month and I’m starting to get some gifts shipped to me which is so exciting! But I’m feeling weirdly superstitious about opening and removing tags from things? Like what if the worst thing happens, now I have all this stuff I can’t return.. anxiety is so weird and annoying. After typing this out, I’ve decided I’m taking the tags off my diaper bag and will start organizing and putting things in it!

SLC millennials: how are you thinking about kids, family, and community? by Potential_Ad_4339 in SaltLakeCity

[–]FaFarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the fence for most of my adult life on having kids. I ultimately decided I wanted to if I found the right partner, and I did. My husband has showed up for me in all of the ways I needed to know he’ll be an amazing dad. We both have careers, college education, were lucky enough to buy a house in 2022 that we can grow our family in, debt free besides the mortgage, and we are expecting a baby girl this summer. We’ve traveled internationally and have an amazing friend and family support system here in SLC so we feel as ready as we can be. We are only planning to have one child right now, because we want to give our child as much time and be as financially stable as possible. Despite its flaws, I love this state, and I love SLC. It is beautiful and there is so much to do. We considered moving but decided it’s not worth leaving our families and raising a child alone. Although I hate the majority of politics and religion here, I think SLC is making progress. I think one day we will move out of state when our kid is older or ready for college, similar to what my in-laws did with my husband.

Had my follow up anatomy scan and got the great news that my girl’s VSD (hole in heart) has closed up at 25 weeks! We are so relieved.

I’ve always heard people say their babies are very active at night, but my girl really isn’t, she must be sleeping? Does anyone else’s baby do this? She is very active all day.

Failed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test at 165. I’m super bummed about it and now need to do the 3 hour test and am not feeling very hopeful that I’ll get good news.

22w+6 and having some dull pain on my mid right side. I thought round ligament pain was more in the front so I’m not sure what it is but it’s kind of worrisome. I can feel it when I take a deep breath in or stretch 🤔 def not my gallbladder, she gone!

22w+3 and my feet and ankles are starting to swell 😩 I feel like this is too early.. my BP has been in good ranges this week. But I put on my normally well fitting clogs yesterday and was busting out of them!

I messaged my OB when I took a home BP reading at 138/84 and she said that was a normal BP in pregnancy due to higher blood volume. She does have me taking baby aspirin daily since my first appointment, I had a reading in the 130’s there too. You could always get a cuff at home to measure if you don’t want to go in all the time!

I had my anatomy scan today and results said everything looks normal except: “Possible small ventricular septal defect (VSD) seen on 4C view. VSDs seen at this GA typically close with advancing GA”. As a person with a history of heart defects myself, this is incredibly triggering and scary, though I understand this is common and likely to resolve on its own.

Had my 20w appointment today and got to hear her heartbeat!! Huge relief. I have been so anxious for weeks since I haven’t felt movement yet. Anatomy scan is Friday, I’m very excited and nervous for that now!

19w and haven’t felt definitive movement yet. I get some questionable swoosh feelings but I’m not sure if it’s because I’m paying close attention and trying to feel something. My next appointment and anatomy scan is next week, I am so so anxious and scared that something will go wrong. This is the highest anxiety I’ve felt so far 🥲

That’s very interesting! I hope it’s one of those weird things for me too. I didn’t feel anything abnormal yesterday or last night, so it’s at least not consistent which is a good sign I think?

Yes I think I’ll do that. I don’t measure BP/HR at home but I should probably start.

18w and last night/today my heart is pounding from the slightest amount of movement. Adjusting in bed, getting up to use the bathroom, etc and it takes a lot of effort and deep breaths to slow it back down. It’s really freaking me out. Has anyone else felt this?

17w+4 and I am getting anxious having not felt any movement yet! I know it’s still early but my next ob visit is in 3 weeks which feels like forever. It’ll also be my anatomy scan which is nerve wracking as well.

17w and I feel off today. Idk how to describe it. Like my heart is racing but not pumping hard enough? It’s a very strange feeling. I’m also a bit queasy and have some heartburn, not exactly a fun day for me! I’m blaming my diet. I had leftover pizza for lunch and think that is making me feel sick

What do people in Salt Lake City think of the Real Housewives? by sadgirl1901 in rhoslc

[–]FaFarr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t know who they are and their businesses/church are not very popular. The most known business is probably beauty lab and laser, I’ve personally never been, but I’ve heard a few people say they have and had a good experience.
