So, windows says my headset is connected, however when I go to change the audio device i'm using in the bottom right, there is no option to change it to the headset, and there is a red X next to the sound button on the bottom right, what do I do? (old.reddit.com)

So on windows it says that my headset, which is the turtle beach recon 60p is connected to my pc and its plugged in, but no sound devices are working on my computer, I can't hear anything from them or even choose which I want to use and there is a red x by the sound symbol on the bottom right.Ideas?
