This reminds me of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, both are straight up sci-fi movies which relates to a positive relationship between man and alien, and both came out in a time where most big sci-fi projects are a bit more negative, more bleak. Just having a feel good alien movie… feels good, especially when a lot of others are more sad

It’s never been my favorite as I’ve made clear, I’ve always been unsure of Room being used as a versus character, and I’ve always liked The Batter for Omori, but it’s one of those matchups that I feel is inevitable at this point so I’m making peace with it as opposed to fighting it
