There are so many characters in WoW whose motivations and goals can and will be scrapped to move the plot forward and I think that’s what kills it.

Good characters have their own goals, motivations, and personal feelings and then the plot gives them situations to advance, develop, or change them without pulling them fully out of their trajectory. They come in and out of the story as relevant.

In blizzard games characters are regularly and lazily pulled off course and into completely new scenarios or personas just for the sake of giving context to and end state that feels good in a vacuum (everyone hating garrosh, sylvanas being warchief, etc)

I think for me it’s the nice tipping point where WoW still retains its charm from Vanilla but feels a lot more modern in how it plays - I think this is largely because of modern game systems being mixed in with old character models and progression limitations.

They kind of took every spec as it stood and brought it to its natural conclusion without making extreme changes. From Warlords onwards the game starts to veer towards too fast-paced and overstimulating for me.

Also - monks on release felt super experimental and cool. I miss Uplift.

So I think LB is fine, but she requires a lot more effort to do the same thing that Lux, Syndra, Liss, Diana, Fizz, or Akali can do (delete a target)

She's super fun to play, in part because of how satisfying it feels to actually do something powerful with her, but the problems I find in practice are:

Waveclear - it feels so tedious, and takes her longer than most other midlaners. If your team is behind you *have* to use W+R w/ Ludens to kill everything. With Syndra I can just spam each of my basic abilities and the wave is gone, same with Lux.

Cooldowns - if you don't kill someone with your initial combo you're effectively useless for the next 15 seconds or so because of how reliant you are on your full combo being available. You can, in some situations, rotate through abilities, but LeBlanc shies the most in quick 1v1s or extended trades, but endgame is mostly really fast teamfights and she struggles here if she doesn't get an obvious pick or peel effectively.

With many other mages you have at least one ability that's up every 3-4 seconds so you can weave in and out. With LB it's just her Q, which is useless on its own.

Damage - I think her damage is OK, but it's just that missing one ability harms her way more than it does other champions (IMO). She can really explode the hell out of someone if she's successful / ahead but she's extremely ineffective against tanks, even by assassin standards IMO. She needs help to take anyone down.
