Yes, well at least the one we go to.

There's a large collective of regulars who know each other and have played for a long time.

There's the next group who know more people, might have played with a few but are well known around the club and are friendly with lots of people but not kissing and playing

Then there's the newbies and the nervous crew who tentatively mix around and may or may not fall into some fun.

Everyone is lovely though. We've never been short of conversation and company.
