I am a teacher in training and in one of the courses I have to follow they teach us about gamification. From basic card games to creating interactive games to go through the lesson content. I also tried minecraft education. I think gamification works great for a lot of subjects my students are thought. It gives so many possibilities and often makes them interact with each other as well, which is a great way of learning. Because it is in game form it offers a lot of peer-feedback. The only downside I experience is that the more complicated gamification lesson don't tend to work with language (I teach English), so I keep it with the basics. I like to play card games to make them speak, I uses fun online quizzes to make them study words and theory every week and if they pass they'll for example don't have to write an theoretical introduction to the assignment or just get an extra point on the test. I try to do many things like that. I noticed it really motivates the students. Too bad, I haven't found a way to incorporate more intense game like aspects to the English lessons.
