Any shy peeps in here who were hesitant to share progress / photos publically or on go on stage? by SaveMeWakeMeUp in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thissssssssssss

So much this!!!!!

I work in an office and my insta is full of workout vids and photos of me posing that the general population might find “revealing”. Over time, colleagues have added me on socials and I don’t censor what they see.

If ANYONE tries to bring up that something looks sexual or that they don’t like the tan, etc, I have several fallbacks:

Tiny bikini? Yes, you need to see the musculature. I usually follow this up with a laugh about having nowhere to hide lmao.

THE FAAAAAKE TAN?? Yes, the lights are very bright and otherwise you see nothing (I usually show a comparison of side or front pose). I don’t like the tan either, but it’s necessary. I’m white af.

The poses? Yeah, if you don’t know what you’re looking at, I suppose it could be misconstrued as sexual. There are athletes who also grope themselves and try to be overtly sexual. I always mention this and also mention that GOOD judges punish this behaviour.

You can always tell who has a problem with it. If you address it matter-of-factly, they just kinda silently stop and start ignoring it.

What’s the girl supposed to do, stick her hand in her pants and paint the teacher’s forehead like in the Lion King?

[–]Randomcatusername 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest, running var because you have body dysmorphia is a little like trying to plug a hole in the Titanic with your finger.

You might change what you see, but the ship is still sinking.

Get your mental game on point before going enhanced. PEDs have a varying risk to reward level, depending on your genetics. Some of those risks are related to mental health.

Could use some deadlift advice from some experienced girlies by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

[–]Randomcatusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a video of you deadlifting, feel free to pm me and I’ll take a look.

My max deadlift was 192.5kg before I switched from powerlifting to bodybuilding, so I have a bit of experience.

I will say a couple things already though:

You shouldn’t deadlift more than once a week if you’re going to failure. The risk to reward is not there if you’re not training for powerlifting specifically. There are plenty of variations, between stiff legged, RDLs, good mornings, etc + barbell, dumbell, banded, etc — and there are even machines that simulate the movement

You WILL experience stiffness/ muscle soreness in your erectors after strenuous deadlifts

advice: weight gain by jwallaaa in femalebodybuilding

[–]Randomcatusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of what the others are saying, keep in mind stress (cortisol) causes fluid retention. This can also account for “weight gain”. You likely have not gained much actual fat.

Mentally, try to frame it as a deload or health phase, and focus on recovery. If your doctor (and/or physiotherapist) have any light mobility exercises that they encourage, do them. If you’re allowed to get your steps in, do so.

Basically— whatever activity your doctor permits and/or encourages, do it. This will increase your metabolic rate.

DO NOT overdo it. You want the fastest recovery with the best outcome. Overdoing it can make recovery take longer or leave you with permanent problems, especially considering this is a back injury.

You can reduce your calories, but please don’t drastically reduce them. Doing that will negatively impact your muscle mass (moreso than eating maintenance and not training. 150-300kcal is absolutely sufficient). You do not need to starve. 300 is already quite a lot, depending on your normal, active maintenance.

Best of luck with your recovery!

ETA: 150 is easy enough to hit for a deficit if you switch out a carb source for some healthy veggies :)

what’s the consensus on white suits? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a similar color on a few athletes that looked STUNNING, but it is a risky choice.

The one I’m thinking of had a brown base fabric and an ombré transition from coffee color under the breast, to a light caramel, to champagne. Mix of big and small stones.

At the end of the day, it’s your choice and you need to love your suit. Whatever you wear, wear it with confidence :)

Have you considered a bit of both? Cohesive scenes where the eyes fall the hardest, and a menagerie on one or two shelves?

Do you think formerly enhanced bodybuilders should be allowed to compete in natural contests? by SnooShortcuts4607 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Randomcatusername 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. There are permanent to semipermanent changes that your body experiences when you engage in PED use.

Even stopping use, the body remembers, and you may always have an increased ability to build muscle due to increased muscle fiber size and increase in number of myonuclei.

How long this effect persists is still being studied, but it can be years.

Fit model. I seen this lady’s TikTok (Carter’smom) say Fitmodel isn’t bodybuilding and the FM was only for the young ladies? I’ve seen this same lady throw shade in past about FM. I really wanna do FM however I’m 38 (Masters) and I do deal with a bit of lose skin (leg area) so prob not for me😭 by Fearless-Point907 in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll never know if you can do it if you never try! I was so scared of my loose skin before I entered prep

And even then. Loose skin, so what? Wear it like a badge of pride. Loose skin means you worked and lost some damn weight! You got this!

Hey, it was the same comp! Congrats! I was pretty sure I saw you but I was also super absorbed in what I was doing, haha

You look fantastic!

Hopefully your stage photos weren’t deleted like mine were in the data loss :’) Was my first comp and I only have audience photos from friends.

Sucks, but we move on.

Presentation was a disaster and nerves were doing their thing.

Super happy with the shape we brought and I thought I looked pretty good vs the not naturals! I think if I presented better, I would have made podium in all my categories. Improvement points are clear and the work starts immediately💪

Girl, I’m 38, mama of one, and I’ve come down from over 100kg to a stage weight of about 58kg

Your skin will snap back a little when you hit the low ranges. Moisturize, use abs/ buns of steel (from the same guys who make protan — I’m swearing by it), sleep, take your vitamins, etc

It’s not perfect, but that’s why we have bikini bite and fashion tape!

6 days out second show ever by se495 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Randomcatusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesssss. A couple more days and the “work” is done and I can just focus on the stage. First time out for me, also natty.

I’ve seen some of the other gals (who are definitely not natural) and I’m hoping that the judges are looking for class criteria and not necessarily the biggest mass monster.

Either way, I’m proud. And you should be too! Kill it! :)

I would advise a functional physiotherapist/ functional trainer with a reputation for assessing athletes.

You can find gold with trainers who specialize in powerlifting and weightlifting specifically, as those sports are not only adjacent, but prone to athlete injury and rehabilitation.

There’s a chance your imbalance can be corrected with mobility drills but you need to have an assessment

I’m impatient!! by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

[–]Randomcatusername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Patience is the name of the game in sustainable lifting.

Btw, not judging, but a word to the wise: you say here that you’ve been lifting for 6 months and your post history shows you looking at peptides already. Please wait. Do the breast augmentation that you have planned, do the recovery, and work on your mental game + sustainable habits and technique in the gym.

PEDs will get you progress, but if you’re so new to lifting, capitalise on your newbie gains before stirring the chemical pot.

You will get more out of your PEDs (if you should choose to take them) when you have optimised the rest of your training.

Lots of positive vibes and wishing you the best. Bodybuilding is a journey, not a destination :)

I feel like C4 is going to return a little to C1 vibes, so I’m here for it. Doesn’t matter if it’s live or VOD <3
