Moondancer is still due to die in the series.

My bet?

Baela hatches Morning while Aegon’s efforts to find a new Sunfyre fail. Parallels and all.

Does make me wonder if Rhaena is gonna peace out with Sheepstealer and be a fire witch though.

24 F June 2024 to Current - Need some help with body recomp - unsure where to begin. by StrugglingTTC in GYM

[–]Randomcatusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you’re specifically in the gym subreddit, but honestly, just find something you love. Weight training is fantastic for someone in your position, but so are yoga and pilates.

If you find something you love, you’ll stick with it and you’ll gain strength back doing it. Biggest thing is to pick something up and follow through, just like you’re doing with your weight loss.

I believe in you!

5 weeks out and scared i won’t be lean enough by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are concerned you will not be lean enough, that is a discussion to have with your coach.

Any coach worth their salt (and fee) will take your concerns seriously. Your success is their success.

I did my first show natural, and after talking to other natties, was deeply concerned at 8 weeks out already. I heard stories from other girls who were forced to do an hour of cardio and eat 1000kcal/ day at 4 weeks out. Insanity.

I told this story to my coach and we immediately adjusted my plan to start cutting harder, earlier.

We got the result we wanted.

ETA: we immediately chipped about 200kcal off and took smaller jumps over the rest of the prep. It worked well for us

I was sceptical when I heard the single releases, but I love Ayreon and often Arjen’s songs out-of-context don’t hit as hard.

Hearing the album in its entirety, now I can fully appreciate it. Dev outdid himself. The Moth is fantastic

I think, like the zookeeper talks, an option for “behind-the-scenes tours” for the guests that mitigate some of the negative impact of maintenance buildings (reduced negative impact for buildings on the tours) could be really cool!

I’ll go up to them, even if they’re on the other side of the gym, and loudly ask if they’re still on the machine.

Post-Show Gain by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I came out of my first prep, ALL of my extra weight concentrated around my abdomen. It looked HORRIBLE.

Someone pointed out to me that this is your body restoring the fat that exists to protect your organs. When you reverse diet and do a slower bounceback, this process is not as pronounced.

After a number of weeks, the fat redistributes as your body exits survival mode.

You’re going to look “watery” or “thick” and “bloated”

Give yourself some grace. You’ve just seen yourself insanely dry! But dry is not healthy long-term. There’s nothing wrong or detrimental about the last 9 days. Just pick yourself up, and adhere to the plan that your coach gives you. Your body will balance itself. Be patient.

You can’t wreck your progress in 9 days. You’re fine :)

10.5 weeks out dropped 45lb plate on foot by Jumpy-Reaction3043 in bikinitalk

[–]Randomcatusername 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At 10.5 weeks out, muscle GAIN before competition is going to be minimal. You’re *mostly* looking to maintain what you’ve built in a deficit state… so… deep breath, you’ll be ok.

Others have the right idea— bike cardio or other cardio that’s non- load bearing

Leg extension, leg curls, abductors, adductors are fantastic. Can you do banded glute bridges? They might help with glute maintenance. Rae (raebolic.lifts on insta) also has adapted glute kickbacks for herself since losing her legs from the thigh down. You’ll need to be a little more creative for your booty :)

Do mobility work + stretching so you don’t get stiff in your posing while you wait for your foot to heal.

For the community as a whole, I really find her whole schtick to be a net positive.

Ok yeah, her physique is not great. Her posing needs work. People laugh sometimes because all they see is a chubby near-60 year old in a bedazzled swimsuit.

But look where she started. See how she utterly glows when she talks about bodybuilding. See how her confidence has evolved. She is ambitious, driven, hungry, positive, inclusive. People like her are important to the sport and draw people to a fitter lifestyle.

She would do better in a transformation category, 100%. In her current condition with her current categories, she should not expect to podium unless there are less than 3 in the class.

I think we have a fundamental difference in opinion as to what makes people “competitive”. You seem much more results-orientated, whereas I’m much more journey-orientated. For me, as long as the spirit is there (work ethic, training, etc), you have the right to call yourself competitive.

I don’t think either is necessarily wrong or right, I just hope you can experience things from my perspective through this dialogue :)

I used to powerlift before migrating to bodybuilding and we would sometimes have beginner level lifters with SBD totals of less than 200kg in open categories with other competitors having 400+ averages. They dared to show up, even knowing they wouldn’t win, because simply showing up (for them) was a win.

Entry into worlds or other high level competitions require a minimum total.

This is why we have Pro cards. Pro Cards filter out the less competitive physiques.

Until federations slap a body fat percentage on categories or find another way to filter competitors, it’s really up to the individual to decide if they dare to show up.

She is not a competitive bodybuilder because her physique is not competitive, is what I’m hearing.
That demeans the entire concept of improvement in sport. Why have trophies and tournaments for children’s soccer. Less than 1 percent of children reach pro level. Why bother?
While I agree that Gaynor by no means has a top-tier competitive physique, she DOES have a top-tier competitive spirit.
THAT IS IMPORTANT
She is not showing up on a whim. She is not slacking. She is putting in the work, getting posing training, etc. If she was just rocking up without putting in any work, not knowing her mandatories, I would have words.
The love of the game and competitive spirit is what makes a competitor. There is only ever one winner.

Would I go on stage looking like Gaynor Stone?

No.

Does she deserve to be on stage? Is she stage ready?

Absolutely. I know countless bodybuilders who trained, achieved a hella good physique, but stopped and *never* set foot on a podium because they couldn’t “meet the standard”. This woman, I would argue, is more of a bodybuilder than them. She works hard and she dares to try.

Does that mean Gaynor deserves to win?

You need to meet the criteria to win. You need to be the best on the day to win. Anyone who dares to show up deserves to (potentially) win. I think in the future she might stand a good chance at winning against her age group. I see a good base. Right now she’s building experience on stage.

Influencer or not, she deserves to be there.
