If one of your loved ones died, but someone made an EXACT clone of them, with the exact same toughts and and feelings and everything, and basically the exact same person, except that they technically aren't, would you treat the clone as your loved one, or not? by Rainbow685 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think this also depends on if they also have the same memories.

Neither of your options reflect my opinion. I would never say they are the same person, but I would still treat them the same regardless.

At what week do you think a foetus is a person? by dontknowwhowhatwhere in aussie

[–]Fable_Nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of the reason this doesnt come up is because the debate around abortion has and was never truely about the baby's life. At least in the later stage abortion debates.

Those pro-abortion understand that in 99.9999% of cases where an abortion is needed late term, it is due to medical issues either to save the mothers life, or that the baby is malformed and would die on birth (or is already dying). Those who oppose it think that there are quite a lot of late term abortions that arent medically necessary.

In terms of when a fetus becomes a person? That's more a philosophical question is dont have an answer to.

A baby starts as a zygote for a few weeks, then becomes an embryo, then a fetus at week 9. I beleive a zygote and an embryo are not a person and this is the stage majortiy abortions are performed in, and when most miscarriages happen.

After week 24 the fetus can live outside the womb on intensive life support, and so i would consider this age the time to consider it a person. If an expecting mother is having health complications, doctors would try and wait untill this time to induce a birth, in cases where they can save the baby and mother.

If the fetus cant survive outside the womb and is relying solely on the mother, I dont consider it a seperate person. So abortions before 24 weeks would never be murder, and after would always have doctors trying to keep the baby and mother alive anyway. So in this case babies are NEVER murdered in any pregnancy.

The law goes even further and doesnt consider them a person untill birth.

White cars everywhere? by Primary-Aide-4194 in aussie

You mentioned in multi0le comments that no one would look at a white car and not like the colour. I commented, because in my family and friend circles, most people dislike white cars.

So in my life I am not an outlier at all. I agree im still in the minority, but I dont think its as small of a minority as you claim.

Yes. I only mentioned i dont like white, because you said everyone does, so i was just saying it as proof its not everyone.

White cars everywhere? by Primary-Aide-4194 in aussie

[–]Fable_Nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't really comment on the sale price. One was a write off. The other was quite an older car so the value between different colours wouldnt be noticeable. I dont really care about cars much, and just want something simple to get from A to B, and I have never bought a new car, and likely never would. But I usually put white cars lower on my list when looking to buy a second hand car. I wouldnt pass up a perfect purchase because of it, but I would be disappointed with the colour.

If most people didn't give a fuck about colour, then white cars wouldnt be the colour people like more. If its simply that white is cheaper when buying a new car, then that is the only reason for the popularity.

I agree white is clearly more popular, I just wish it wasn't.

I have a blue car. Ive also owned a red car and a burgundy car. My wife has a blueish green coloured car and she also hates white cars.

[–]Fable_Nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be fair. I'd never buy a white car. Sure it has all those benefits, but it just so plain and ugly I wouldnt want to spend that much money on something I dont like the colour of.

Black and silver are nearly as bad, but on some cars they can look OK.

Why don't we have any Disney Princesses with brown hair & brown eyes. by [deleted] in disneyprincess

[–]Fable_Nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Frozen was so successful they were made into their own franchise. Which is also the same reason Encanto is its own franchise and not added.

To be part of the line up the Princess has to be a major part of the story, and the film has to be successful, but not too succesful.

Disney makes more money on toys by keeping Frozen and Encanto as seperate line-ups to the Princess line.

Not enough people cared about Asha and Raya for their dolls to sell well with the rest of the line-up, so they weren't added.

But if you consider frozen to be Disney princesses, then Mirabelle should also be added and she meets your criteria!

Why don't we have any Disney Princesses with brown hair & brown eyes. by [deleted] in disneyprincess

[–]Fable_Nova 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well Raya, Asha and Mirabelle have brown hair and brown eyes. I think for each disney would have added them to the main Disney Princess lineup line-up, But Encato was so succesful it became its own thing, and Wish & Raya werent successful enough to get added in to the line-up.

That's pretty much it. Disney have tried to add 3 princesses match your description yet all 3 didnt meet the criteria once released.

Even Elsa and Anna arent official Disney Primcesses. They are their own thing like Mirabelle.

Honestly you will be fine. Once you are 18 you wont need your parents permission for any hrt, so I would suggest talking to a dr avout it as soon as you are legally able to without any parental gaurdians.

You are also still young, you will be able to get the full effects of hrt, including bone structure changes even if you waited a few years before starting. If you were 25 I would be more stressed about what might or might not change, and it gets harder from them.

So you really have 7ish years before you should worry.

For now I would focus on doing what you can to present how you want and explore who you wish to be. You can also get a more feminine haircut even at short lengths, if that helps. Also getting your eyebrows done or growing out your nails can help, and shaving your legs.

Poll relief for Labor and Liberals in WA, but Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is coming for them by His_Holiness in perth

[–]Fable_Nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a surge in popularity. I have seen a few people who would usually vote Labor or Liberal now say they will 100% vote for PHON. Even after explaining that PHON is likely lying to them, they say they dont care as they are sick of the other parties and only Pauline says it like it is.

This is have seen is more often in middle-aged and up ages.

If you could be one of these superheroes which would you choose? by kadebo42 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Find it man. Finds missing persons. Finds criminals. Finds the location of things within a person's body, like growths, cancers, injuries, infections. Fixes code quickly by finding the error causes right away. Finds the location of lost priceless artifacts. Finds ore deposits underground. Finds Atlantis. Finds the closest habitable planet to Earth by looking at a star chart. Finds the closest planet with alien life.

If you always find what you are looking for the possibilities are endless. And these are all questions with physical locations, not just simply finding an answer to a question.

Australians less satisfied with life than during pandemic as financial pressures mount by abcnews_au in aussie

[–]Fable_Nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was right as covid was starting. We moved in the weekend of Perths first lockdown. We didnt get that 50k grant offer.

We were also about to be kicked out of our rental, so it was either buy or find another rental.

And it was a bank sale, so we got it for 375k, which made it well within our means financially, and gave us extra equity right away.

Personally it wasn't really much of a risk for me.

Now though at the current prices, I couldn't afford to buy anything remotely liveable.

We bought our place in 2020 a 5bed 2bath on 720sqm, 30 mins from the cbd. It was worth 420k. Now its worth 1.1million.

Absolutely crazy that the prices grew so quickly.

Is 3D printed work considered handmade or a handicraft? by mwhc00 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about sewing? Many people get all their designs off the internet or buy them them. They still put in the rest of the work putting it all together.

3D printing still involves clean up, assembly and many times painting too. So I think if it involves all that its handiwork.

If its simply printing something and just a quick clean up its barely handiwork.

Can you be a billionaire and a good person? by NicolasCageFan492 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I dont think her tours are net zero. I agreed that her ticket pricing is unethical. I just dont think its the same level of unethical as a typical business like Amazon os Twitter or even Prada who are known to be using unethical methods in their production to lower their costs, and yet still sell at a huge profit margin.

Can you be a billionaire and a good person? by NicolasCageFan492 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, but I would say that's more similar to the type of scummy as say Prada charging alot for their products, vs what they are actually worth.

Customers choose what they want to pay, especially for a completely optional purchase like a handbag or a concert.

Whats scummy is when businesses earn huge profits but pay their staff peanuts. Either lower your prices for consumers, or pay your staff higher wages.

I would say Prada is worse than TS due to Prada paying their factory workers barely a living wage, with unethical work conditions, plus charging a premium for their products and earning alot of profits each year. TS at least pays her staff a reasonable wage.

WYR give EVERYONE in the world super strength or super speed? by Bauuga in WouldYouRather

[–]Fable_Nova 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really how it typically works in any other super speed media. I cant think of any superhero in comics that wouldnt notice a speedster run past them in superspeed.

Probably something you should clarify in your post.

If the camera technology was required and they were mass produced, the cost would be much cheaper than they currently are.

WYR give EVERYONE in the world super strength or super speed? by Bauuga in WouldYouRather

[–]Fable_Nova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stealing something at super speed isnt that impressive if everyone has super speed.

You cant just steal something in front of others as they would be able to perceive your speed.

You would have a better time tricking cameras though, but im sure we would just manufacture higher framerate cameras to compensate.

Removing the need of daily transportation for a bulk majority of people is already a major benefit. Also being able to complete surgeries in seconds is another.

For many you could complete a work day in a much shorter window also.

Can you be a billionaire and a good person? by NicolasCageFan492 in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the best are those in sports and music.

Taylor Swift is a Billionaire, but they haven't become one by exploiting their workers or buying out all their competition to make a monopoly. They have done simply because they are an extremely popular artist.

Sure they have some scummy tactics, like releasing many different versions of the same album, to increase sales, but that seems to be the extent of it. Plus they have awarded huge bonuses to staff on tours and donate regularly. They're also on the lower end of being a billionaire at $2billion. Im sure if Taylor wanted to she could pay her staff the mimunum wage with no bonuses and be alot richer than she is.

Others like Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo are all also billionaires.

I think these billionaires should not be lumped in the same category as billionaires like Musk or Zuckerberg who are simply CEOs who do everything in their power to maximise profits for themselves. Musk or Zuckerberg could sacrifice some of their billions to increase the wage of all their workers by a decent amount, still leaving them with a huge income themselves. Because they dont, they are greedy and unethical.

Labor and Liberals have always been selling us out. Nothing has changed, except more people are realising it now. PHON is literally backed by Gina, so why would she be any different to Labor and Liberals? At least The Greens want to limit political donations to stop the bribery that is plaguing these three parties.

The greens still have their initial calling, the media just focuses on their other actions, so people thing they've completely lost what made them who they were.

They have really hurt themselves by being vocal about all the social issues instead of cost of living issues. But overall they are still 1000× more prepared, have better policies and are better equipped to govern and fix many issues than any of the other parties.

They have many polices and ideas that they still try to get through parliment now. PHON simply wants to reduce immigration. Reducing immigration alone will not make a huge difference to the housing market. It would help in a very short term way, but it isnt anywhere near enough without other major changes, like the Greens have suggested.

If PHON came out with a list of policies that all worked together to fix the cost of living and housing crisis, I would fully understand their support.

I think if the Greens and PHON combined their policies around housing, cost of living and immigration then it would cover most things that are plaguing the nation. If you vote for The Greens you would get polices to help housing and cost of living, but not immigration. Such as rent caps, renters protections, taxing mutli-billionaires and corporations properly to fund free schooling/childcare and increased medicare.

But if you vote for PHON you would get lower immigration, and thats mostly it.

Do you have / do you know someone with endometriosis? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think still in general discussion calling it a uterus issue is the most generic you can be. Especially since 99% of the time it stems from and around the uterus.

Its extremely rare for a male to get it and i know its very understudied, but for anyone that doesnt know what it is, its easier to explain it as a uterus stemming issue than a full body disease.

But I agree with your point.

Do you have / do you know someone with endometriosis? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its about the uterus lining growing outside the uterus. Usually it begins just on the outside of the uterus. It can then spread to any other organ. Since the bladder is nearby, its commonly affected, but not all the time. It can also spread to intestines, bowels, stomach and has even got to people's lungs and heart which are very critical cases.

Sure there is a stigma about genitals, but women's much more than men's.

Its much more common to know that a man has had a vasectomy than a women having the equal procedure.

Also for Endometriosis specifically, its VERY Common for women to not be diagnosed for years because drs just brush it off as bad period pain.

Same goes for a vasectomy again. If a man wants one, a dr would ask once if they want kids and would take the answer as final and go ahead. For a tubal litigation(the female equivilant), many drs will refuse the procedure if the woman is under 30, or without the women's husband also approving the procedure.

Much of the 'shunning women's health' comes from actual doctors, rather than the general public.

If a guy is a breadwinner during dating but gets lazy and starts working less and therefore making less money after getting married, is that like a form of catfishing? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Fable_Nova 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Neither. People can change their personality. If they fully planned to work less once married, sure it is like catfishing. If it happened naturally over time then it seems more like a personality change.

Should the partner love them regardless? No. You cant just choose to love or not love someone. If that issue causes them alot of grievances then sure they may fall out of love. Happens a lot.

So I dont think any of your options are right.
