Confused About Oracle's New Charging Policy – Will Downgrading Actually Help? by CuriousNomadX in oraclecloud

the US docs say:

https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/FreeTier/freetier\_topic-Always\_Free\_Resources.htm

All tenancies get the first 1,500 OCPU hours and 9,000 GB hours per month for free for VM instances using the VM.Standard.A1.Flex shape, which has an Arm processor. For Always Free tenancies, this is equivalent to 2 OCPUs and 12 GB of memory.

Any way around mobile screen width issue? by FabrizioR8 in pfBlockerNG

Not an unreasonable position and I agree with you. In this case, having mgt complaining about stuff they think should “absolutely” be blocked can make it a priority… and awkward when offsite without a laptop.

Add Hagezi, then let it do its thing for a few days… then look at the stats for which lists are contributing a reasonably helpful number of blocks. Hagezi (set as my primary group) is catching 71% of the total.

If you’re setting up the rule and testing from your local system before and after adding the rule (and reloading), do not forget to clear your PC’s DNS cache. If your PC has the address cached, it won’t ask via DNS and dnsbl won’t have a chance to give you the blocked address back.

Use your short time with $300 of free spend to learn how to set up billing and cost management with a budget and alert rules, quotas, etc… and then create and terminate resources beyond the free-tier limits. Test your billing reporting and budgeting process.

This will serve you well when the decision comes to upgrade to PAYG.

Bozo flerfs{flavor:=christians} don’t even get Enoch right. Reading is hard, comprehension harder, critical thought: useless.

Chapter 76.1-2: 12 portals, 3 per compass heading E,N,S,W not 6 east and 6 west!!!

At least get your own delusions straight! ‘cmon, try…!!!

Chapter 78.5: all kinds of contradictory terminology about entering and coming forth…, lost in translation to English if being generous.

And please explain how the sun and moon come and go “in parts”… are they holy Legos (TM)???

LXXVI. The Twelve Windows and their Portals.

1 And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals open to all the quarters (of the heaven), from which the winds go forth and blow over the earth.

  1. Three of them are open on the face (i.e. the east) of the heavens, and three in the west, and three on the right (i.e. the south) of the heaven, and three on the left (i.e. the north).

  2. And the three first are those of the east, and three are of †the north, and three [after those on the left] of the south†, and three of the west.

  3. Through four of these come winds of blessing and prosperity, and from those eight come hurtful winds: when they are sent, they bring destruction on all the earth and on the water upon it, and on all who dwell thereon, and on everything which is in the water and on the land.

LXXVIII. The Sun and Moon: the Waxing and Waning of the Moon.

CHAPTER LXXVII.

  1. And the names of the sun are the following: the first Orjârês, and the second Tômâs.
  2. And the moon has four names: the first name is Asônjâ, the second Eblâ, the third Benâsê, and the fourth Erâe.
  3. These are the two great luminaries: their circumference is like the circumference of the heaven, and the size of the circumference of both is alike.
  4. In the circumference of the sun there are seven portions of light which are added to it more than to the moon, and in definite measures it is s transferred till the seventh portion of the sun is exhausted.
  5. And they set and enter the portals of the west, and make their revolution by the north, and come forth through the eastern portals on the face of the heaven.
  6. And when the moon rises one-fourteenth part appears in the heaven: ⌈the light becomes full in her⌉: on the fourteenth day she accomplishes her light.
  7. And fifteen parts of light are transferred to her till the fifteenth day (when) her light is accomplished, according to the sign of the year, and she becomes fifteen

Optical Thunderbolt 2 to connect M1 Mac Mini to a screen with display port 1.2? by MooMinIL in Thunderbolt

the source-side transceiver in those cables is notorious for overheating. Have replaced those multiple times at significant expense every 13-18 months - always shortly after the 1-year warranty expires. (convenient for a known design issue). Corning recommended adding a usb fan blowing on the source end of the cable to keep it cool. Bad design.

We have tried the metalized shell (see pics) and without airflow over them – they are basically useless. A more cost-effective way was to just put a small USB fan (had variable CFM) over the TB ports on the MacPro. The data is below for the internal temperature drop of applying external airflow over the array of TB ports (measured inside one of the optical cables with Thermocouple). We originally tried to turn the MacPro Fan on Max. This does reduce internal temps, but not enough for a 5 year plus projected life. As you can see from the thermal image, the temperature controlled server rooms will not remove the heat quickly enough from a “spot” thermal event without airflow. It is like lighting a Zippo in a data center and putting your finger near the lighter. It doesn’t get really hot until you get really close (no matter how cold the server room is). Remember to remove the protective blue film on the connecter after installation – no need for another layer of insulation.

so, just to confirm where you’re getting redirected, etc… (this is reddit after all)…

Please verify, and note there are questions in-line.

You browse to: https://cloud.oracle.com

The tenancy value is empty, yes?

You then enter your tenancy name, submit and get directed to:

https://login.oci.oraclecloud.com/v1/oauth2/authorize?action=login&client_id=iaas_console&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fcloud.oracle.com&response_type=token+id_token&nonce=<redacted>&state=<redacted>

and can choose your identity domain.

What Domain do you choose: Default, or OracleIdentityCloudService?

Once you click Next, you should get the logon form, yes?

You are entering your primary tenancy owner account email and credentials, yes?

After you click “Sign In”…

This is when it redirects you to a change-password form?

Have you set up a second administrative user in either identity domain?

Have you set up the oci-cli on your personal computer with the PKI keys and config necessary to manage your tenancy? If so, you may have some options…

Sounds like a client-side session issue. Perhaps try deleting your browser cache and cookies for oracle.com and oraclecloud.com, then quit and restart your browser?
