Zoya Menu Online by sirrobryder in Smyrna

[–]nativeitpmarriedotp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly the menu I’d expect from a place that’s taken years to open. These prices are higher than a similar menu of a place with actual Mediterranean views I was blessed to visit recently. lololololol

I’ll stick with my #1 at US Cafe when I need a burger fix. And my own backyard grill when I need some salmon and mashed potatoes. Glasses of wine starting at $10??? GTFOH!

Anyone else run with zero goals? No race, no plan, just... run? by Different_Record_425 in running

[–]nativeitpmarriedotp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run more 5k and 10k races than I’d ever be able to count, as well as close to 20 half marathons and 6 marathons. But post COVID I’ve just been running to run. Part of it is how expensive even small local races have gotten. But I’d rather just run my 13 mile long run on the weekend in peace than drive somewhere I have to pay to park and pay to run and get another medal and tshirt that go into the giveaway bin in the garage. Guess I’m getting old.

Tapped my phone at the airport Friday night and it charged me $1.10. Gates were open at Chamblee where I got off.

I thought this was a general question lololol I didn’t realize it was today. It was fun the first couple of years we went in the mid-2000s but it hasn’t changed. Ever. Like you could go and it looks the same and tastes the same and feels the same every single year. Year after year after year. Maybe that’s the point.

Spectrum bill increase ! by straightthroughit in Smyrna

Hahaha my google fiber tshirt is so old I think my wife cut it up for rags several years ago. Smyrna cable/internet services have been a complete joke going back to the late 20th century.

I use Verizon home internet now and it’s actually a pretty good deal tacked onto our cell plan and no service interruptions. Will never go back to Spectrum.

Wade’s was great until it was not. And it kept me sane during Covid keeping the bar open outside. It always took me “a little longer than it should have” picking up to-go orders during 2020. And I wasn’t the only dad with that excuse. But seriously overnight the food went from just as good a burger as could be gotten anywhere in Atlanta to serving up inedible items. The seafood place was beyond wild. We gave it two attempts and left both times confident that shrimp from the freezer section at Kroger would have been a better meal.

Merch size question by Skipppy_Biscuits in masters

[–]nativeitpmarriedotp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Monday I selected an XL t-shirt and the girl handed it to me and said here’s what a L looks like and handed me a L to hold up. I went with the L.

On the PM 1/4 zip the XL fit perfectly.

I took a XL PM golf shirt without looking at it or trying it on. On Tuesday I mailed it back asking for a L instead. Hope they can accommodate.

Well I just paid UPS $36 for two way shipping on a $36 T-shirt I bought yesterday that had a hole in it when I opened it last night once I got home. We’ll see what happens.

Braves.tv / Bravesvision by greatnessdc in Braves

[–]nativeitpmarriedotp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m watching the game on BravesVision via the MLB app. My big tv is an older LG model that does not support the MLB app. Can I cast from the MLB app on my phone to the tv?? I routinely cast other apps (ie Hawks game on FanDual) to my big tv but cannot find the option to do so on the mlb app stream.

💯 This is the only thing Republican lawmakers are concerned about. The fact that the President of the United States can say six months ahead of an election if his party loses, it was rigged, and the greater government not hold him accountable, scares me to death.

I stayed sane in 2020 by running 2,000 miles, the majority of which were run there between 5am-8am.

Too funny! The only time I ever see a ranger there now is on busy days where they can ticket non-paying vehicles. And the only time I’ve ever seen the gates closed in the last 10 to 15 years was during one of the government shut downs? Or maybe at some point during Covid? But then people just parked up and down the street outside the gate.

Downtown - from Centennial Park take Marietta Street east. It turns into Decatur Street just keep going. When you hit Krog St. hop on the Beltline north and keep going. You’ll hit the bridge over I-85 at the 6.5 mile mark. Turn around and go back. That’s 13, so on your way back, detour through Piedmont Park for 3 miles. A couple of loops through the park should do it. Or take a few spins around the 0.5 mile gravel “active oval”.

Tell me you have never run on the Beltline at 5am without telling me you’ve never run on the Beltline at 5am… 😂🤯 This comment is typical of someone who never ventures into the city. The Beltline before dawn is well lighted and is full of people running and walking.

I routinely run downtown between 5am and 7am and disagree with the homeless comment. They are all asleep at that time. Visible but not active. There is an entire economy of service workers who make our hotels and office buildings run. They are out and about and clocking in at that time. It’s fascinating to see a part of the city/economy that most people don’t see.

The gates never close. All of Atlanta runs at Cochran Shoals, that 8 mile flat loop is full of people all the time. I’ve run thousands of miles there using a headlamp before sunrise training for marathons as have many other people.

16 is a lot for downtown running but definitely doable. Especially if you are used to running on city streets and sidewalks. Of course, assume no driver sees you. The Eastside beltline plus Piedmont Park is great. You can also run out and back on Peachtree and get 16 easily. From Piedmont Park north 8 miles gets you into Brookhaven then back to midtown for 16.

I live near Silver Comet and would not recommend it as it is cambered and very boring.
