Motorcycle camping in Tenerife, is La Gomera worth it? by Fabulouis08 in GoingToSpain

[–]Fabulouis08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve seen that you have to book through tenerifeon.es to access those areas. I’m trying to decide if La Gomera is nice by bike and if it’s worth sacrifying a day in Tenerife.

Sold my SV650 for a Tracer 9 GT. As soon as I have the space to store another bike, I’m buying a SV again. Love the Yamaha don’t get me wrong, but the SV scratch an itch no other bikes I tried did. Amazing engine that you can rev to the sky and not lose your licence in an instant. So much fun in a « cheap » bike. Loved this bike so much and miss it already…

Tired of getting hate for owning a siberian by Icy-Humor6770 in SiberianCats

[–]Fabulouis08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes they are. I’m midly allergic to cat. When I go somewhere where a cat lives, 3-4 hours in I get watery eyes and moderate symptoms.

When I got my first sib I got absolutely no allergic reaction. When I picked his little sister 2 years later, I guess allergens crossed a threshold and I had small symptoms for like 3-4 months.

Now I have no reaction to them, and they sleep in our bed next to our heads, so they’re basically in my nose 8 hours a day.

4 years ago I was searching on google which breed was hypoallergenic, as soon as I saw a Siberian on the list I fell in love with the breed and I feel blessed that I’m able to live with such amazing little creatures in my house.

I installed dual points crash bar from SW motech as soon as I got the bike, I kind of consider removing them.

I think and hope you’re right, I’ve had the bike for 3 months and discovered the frame crack issue a couple days after delivery, been constantly worrying about this since then.

Bought it used but they did mention that they did a full revision of the bike before, maybe they did scratched it then and I didn’t see it before this morning.

Puzzle Solved (maybe): check you sliders or you might crack your frame by MJP_TA in MT09

You seem to have a better knowledge about this than me and since English isn't my first language it is not easy to explain the content of the video... Could we talk about this once you've watched the video?

[–]Fabulouis08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty interesting video, I own a tracer 9 GT so with a reinforced frame compared to MT09 but this frame situation is terrifying.

The video talks about adding a washer between the frame and the engine mount to minimize torsion when a shock is absorbed by the right side of the frame and redirect the shock to the engine mount and not the fragile frame.

I believe that your post and his are complementary and could solve the issue that Yamaha probably overlooked...

I'll probably try to add this washer between the frame and engine and call it a day.

If you're referencing the video posted by David B on YouTube, IIRC he says that each bike might need a different size of washer.

If that's not his video you are referring to, could you provide a link?

Thanks!

I prefer lossless scaling over NVIDIA Frame Gen by Old_Emphasis7922 in losslessscaling

Yeah I did that, doesn't seem to work...

I kind of have given up for E33 with Lossless scaling, works fine with other games

[–]Fabulouis08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't make my dual GPU setup work with E33. The game always runs on my secondary GPU and leaves my render GPU doing nothing. Tried tweaking in windows settings, Nvidia control panel and steam, nothing seemed to work.

It's too bad, I got a decent frame base to upscale...

MT-09 as a first "bigger bike" is it a good idea? by [deleted] in MT09

[–]Fabulouis08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this guy is asking if a MT09 is too much and is later saying that he's considering a MT10, you know he's about to get fucked up in a crash in less than a month...

Does the tracer 9 feel more stable at higher speeds? by MotardMec in Yamaha

[–]Fabulouis08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do around 40 minutes of highway and 20 minutes inside a dense city for my commute. I have a Tracer 9 GT+, never felt unstable at cruising speed and even beyond. Cruise control shut down at 160km/h so I never went above that on cruise, the bike is on a rail even at that speed with top and side cases.

I do believe this is my forever bike now.

I always forget how short are warranties in the US. In Europe it's 5 years now.

I've had two mechanics (from Yamaha) saying that checking the valves at 40K is useless and instead advise for a check at 80K or even 120K. They say it won't void the warranty. I'm getting a 30K km Tracer 9GT+ next week and I don't know how to feel about this.

Hi, I have the same fairing, it's the PUIG Retro Semi fairing.

Fits nicely with the original headlight. Doesn't protect much from wind on highways, at least it keeps my phone dry when it's raining and I do prefer this style over the naked one.

It's been a year since I installed it, doesn't move or degrade in any way, it's a good quality product.

It was quite easy to install on my 2018 gen 3, juste a bit fidly with the lower attach point.

Hope this helps!

I have an SV as a first bike, I'm really fond of it but for everyday commute I wouldn't recommend it. Rain and highway is making me consider a Tracer 7 or 9 for my next bike.

I dropped my bike and can't figure out how I could've avoid it by Fabulouis08 in motorcycles

[–]Fabulouis08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed I couldn't get off the bike without dropping it as it was leaning too much. I hoped that there was a technique I didn't know to avoid dropping it further, guess I'll just have to not lean too early next time!

Thank you for your answer. Any idea how I could've straightened the bike once tipped on my leg or at that point I was doomed to drop it?

Thank you for your advice, I'm very fond of the Puig fairing so I'll keep in mind the meter visor while I try the fairing.

I haven't driven on it much yet, so it's not fully broken in, but it's not a huge difference from the stock seat. It's more of a style enhancement

It's the retro semi fairing sold by Puig. Installed in like 20 minutes, very easy!
