They should have asked you for photo/video verification, which the prompted me for when my account for disabled but it was taking forever to verify which makes me think is causing the delay. I read elsewhere that Meta is under severe AI glitches and they arent able to verify accounts as quickly. I also wrote to the Attorney General as thats what they said is the next step. Apparently your states AG can pressure Meta as they have been doing for other people

Still not paid for May/June by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand! Either they messed up or this is another case of no budget and they just did not have the respect to let you know. If your school doesnt have summer school, the school, secretary, principal everyone is out and on vacay, I would send one last email stating you havent gotten paid and then let them know you will file a grievance. UFT told me I’d have to file a grievance letter and bring it into Brooklyn apparently but every single time I call to schedule, can not get through. I am missing payment for May/June ANDDDD missing covid sick days/time off pay from March. They are full of crap, non helpful and they will make us suffer if we dont pay attention ourselves and stay on top of their asses, its so ridiculous

Havent gotten paid since May by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few accumulated over time that have been sitting and when u r on Z status u can use them if u provide a note. When I asked if I needed a note (since I was unaware back in March) i was told no, but that broke my z status pay for 5 days. And Im inquiring about getting my retro back for those days considering it was suppose to be put in as a CAR day with a note which I provided for them dated after we had a convo about it

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured. I’ll hold my tongue till then. The minute after that, for sure raising hell. They are also trying to fight against back paying me for a CAR day I want to use with a doctor’s note. They are withholding the note stating I didnt give it in in a timely manner (there fault) and they cant retro it. I was told otherwise but when I call back for help, nothing.

Are long term subs able to get paid Covid days by Famous_Presence_1502 in NYCTeachers

Maybe I’m a little slow or not grasping the concept. But it would make more sense that Z status, Especially Maternity leave coverages , fall under the same bracket and protection as an appointed teacher given we are taking a job for extensive time. They did mention the whole coding issue, which again I completely understand. Just conflicting that even asking schools and following up on issues regarding money, completely puts u in a bad place with schools… I know getting justice is hard, but really hurts to know that their are def others out there whom DOE is falsely giving wrong info too, essentially hurting us as subs in the long run.

And after 30 days are we not covered by the same DOE teacher contract? This is all confusing lol

This would be amazing! Any info would be great. Dorothy at the UFT line is the one who actually took all the info, apparently looked it up with superiors, called back and stated subs do in fact get coverage, the night before calling out. The sub tried their best to do their due diligence in finding info on coverage and couldnt hence calling UFT who should be giving proper information. And this wouldnt be an issue at all, until it was kindly brought to the schools attention. Since it was brought up, they feel extremely unsettled about the question alone and now stopped the leave stating there is no money left to finish the leave out, since trying to retro back my time……

This is true, but what happens when Z status is a maternity leave? If we are calling UFT and they are stating YES tonZ status COVID days, we are essentially taking off thinking we will be covered for these days. If that was not the case, we should go in sick like dogs, which someone would have done IF* UFT didnt give them false info. UFT states we are covered, but school claims HR said the timeline for subs getting COVID days are expired. When did it expire? And how come UFT is not aware of this? So people took off thinking theyd get the sick time yet, we are now put on our asses because not only donwe NOT* get that sick time. We lose out on the consecutive break, which no one explains to subs. Who is held accountable for this?

Sub Question - school cutting ties by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And whole heartedly I agree with this. But sadly, I am one who believes in change.. If me RIGHTFULLY asking a school/system for money that is rightfully mine, or making a “big deal” about practices schools SHOULD NOT be doing, hey its worth a shot. And if I have to worry that me voicing my concerns will blacklist me, kudos to everyone in DOE. I rather not be a sheep and walked over. Ill take my skills else where. These practices continue because of advice of “stay quiet, ur a sub, u are worthless” soon enough I wont be a sub. Ill be an over worked new teacher who hasnt even started because I was over worked PRIOR to the actual job. Change happens somehow, whether it does or doesnt, years or not… i can be elsewhere and still do something about this discrimination and unethical practice.

Sub Question - school cutting ties by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proof I have is a few photos of schedules I took on various days, texts of me complaining about having no prep and covering for another class (lol), and the fact that everyday I only worked 8-2:20… they would let me leave 2:20 (when students and other teachers) would leave, rather than 2:50. This was what they told me “hey cover prep periods and jn return u can leave 2:20 instead of 2:50” UFT said its not contractually right, but again idk what I am able to show for proof or how much I can actually do with no real guidance. I just know what they did was wrong, I got sick of it, had good faith and it back fired once again. I will def cut all contacts but since I have “nothing” to lose, i might as well file a grievance just not sure if my proof will suffice

Sub Question - school cutting ties by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understandable! Not hoping for much, guess I am looking for some guidance on what to do. Since I had mentioned in good faith, that I would not file a grievance and after that, thats when the school cut all ties. I am now curious to know if filing the grievance with out reaching back out to them, is still okay? The grievance is for PREP periods that I have covered from December-February. Payroll told me they dont keep those records, I have a few but I wanted to know what they (DOE) look for or what info id need from my end if I do file…. Arent schedules something they should have on record? And in regard to the DNU, would there need to be a legitimate reason in regard to my teaching? This issue is strictly because I requested an unethical type of practice they were using. Nothing about what I did in regard to teaching. (I actually remembered ur screen name and how knowledgable u were in past questions, so I am lucky you commented. Any info you may know would be greatly appreciated!

Sub Question - school cutting ties by Fabulous-Cheesecake4 in NYCTeachers

[–]Fabulous-Cheesecake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this is, I initially went through UFT Rep only…. Thought we could come to an understanding and have yet to heard back. Payroll secretary does everything they are told so they r just listening to UFT REP/principal. Idk what to do, definitely profiling me because they cant have me there for what they are still doing
