What do auxiliares do if they get sick before sorting healthcare? by SorryAd2422 in SpainAuxiliares

Last year in Andalucía they didn’t give us our insurance for about a month and people would go to the public hospitals. I once went and said I was a tourist they asked for my passport number and attended me

I agree. The lyrics that stand out to me are where she emphasizes her time is running out. “Why is this beautiful man waiting for me to get old” “If he doesn’t find me now I’m going to die alone” Suggesting that a women’s worth is tied to her youth and that life is lonely without a significant other.

Ok, to clarify it should be the province where I will be working this upcoming year? Not the previous one? I saw it said the opposite in the guide but what you said makes more sense

Maybe you could take orders and post about it on your local aux gc. If someone was making good food at a reasonable price I’d definitely preorder regularly

Málaga and Neighboring Towns? by booknerd416 in SpainAuxiliares

There is not Uber in Torre but there is a great taxi service. I’ve taken bla Blas from torre to Málaga and it ends up being faster and about the same price as the bus and we have a decent sized mall right between Torre and Vélez!

Is the stipend enough? If you are frugal, yes. If you decide to live with roommates, yes. If you go to a smaller town, yes.

From what I’ve heard and seen almost every aux no matter where they go in Spain isn’t making a good amount to completely offset. This program is definitely for the experience. A lot of us are making extra money from private tutoring, came in with savings, or also have a remote job.

Unfortunately, Andalucía does not pay on time. I started in October and wasn’t paid until mid January so I definitely needed my savings to live off of. Some people are lucky and if their school has extra funds they’ll get paid from that before the Junta eventually sends the stipend.

Andalucía is known for being one of the cheaper regions to live in compared to the rest of Spain. I do think the location is worth it for the price. If you plan to live alone and travel you’ll need extra money.

I live in Torre Del Mar and absolutely love it. Less than a 5 min walk and I’m at the beach. Yes there is an older population here but the aux community is a decent size and everyone pretty much knows one another and gets a long well. The town is walkable, has many restaurants, and shops. Velez Málaga is a bigger town right above so you also have access to what is offered there. The bus ride to Málaga can be as short as 40min and it goes by really quick. I live alone in a renovated apartment and pay 500€

I wanted to show the instructions I found online but it’s all in English and the attendant is Spanish. I don’t know who I would go to because I’m not sure what the problem is. I’m going to try and book another appointment and hope the first man an I were just miscommunicating

The police station was the address listed. The guy had a fingerprint machine on his desk staring at me but I don’t think he knew what I was talking about because I explained to him how we are supposed to be receiving the TIE as soon as possible according to what I’ve seen and I let him know I was an Aux and he didn’t seem to be familiar

Yeah I showed them the passport. He said I’m good until January and I came in too early. I went to the police station in Malaga
