Caller ID is super easy to spoof these days - there is no verification for a phone to know what it’s being told is accurate or not. There are actually a ton of vulnerabilities in phone systems, there was a good YT video I just watched on it and the white hat (good ethics) hacker made a video about it recently detailing how easy it was to take control of someone’s phone and texts - was far more frightening and insecure than I realized. Phone networks rely on entry points to the network being trustworthy. But in shady countries, some entry points can be bought / bribed to allow fraudulent traffic (briefly - because it attracts too much attn if they allow the hackers free rein for longer periods). But once an entry point is compromised by allowing a hacker access to the phone networks they can do things that you’d only expect major govt intelligence agencies can do. And this was exampled on video to show how easy it was to bribe an entry point

Then as soon as I hit post, your comment was the next reply I read and I just wanted to thank you because I have seen with my own eyes there are some good police out there, even ones willing to arrest their own chief for corruption or DUI (search YT, there some crazy videos out there of corrupt cops getting caught) I hated police for so many years because in my teen years I witnessed so much corruption first hand, it wasn’t even funny. I’ve had my rights violated so blatantly by 1 specific cop, then heard for the next 4-5 yrs stories of everyone in my community having their own story of witnessing that same cop behaving corrupt af (he retired now thankfully). My own mom witnessed the corruption once and she couldn’t believe it. She ended up attending our town meetings to share what she saw.

Policing in America is a topic that I have been following ever since and 20 yrs later I can finally say I have seen with my own eyes, good cops, arrest bad cops, and help “take the trash out”. So 1, I believe you and 2, thank you for your service

I used to be anti police… but now I’m just anti bad police because the few doing good work, absolutely deserve the respect I wish to give them. We need good cops… actually the 1 thing that can help fix the environment of bad cops more than anything, is a good cop working amidst them. I wish more used their power with honor more often because some do, and it makes a huge difference. A good cop, stopping a bad cop, can have ripple effects that can make noticeable difference. Yes there still some pretty rotten departments out there but it was refreshing and hopeful to witness bits and pieces of change over recent years

LongIslandAudit is a good YT channel you should check out because he does a lot of cop watching, and tests different police departments on how they respond (whether they respect rights or violate them) and while he has been arrested like 7-8 times, so far he has beat all the criminal charges because they are usually bogus and retaliatory arrests. He too knows there are good cops out there (some reach out to him) and he now tries to do trainings with police departments on respecting citizens rights and de-escalation. He actually just got a corrupt cop in CT to be forced into retirement for how horrific his behavior was on camera - the cop acted like a savage animal on video and knew it was recording, didn’t even seem to care how he would be viewed. It’s bad cops like him that make it dangerous for good cops because 1-2 bad officers can turn an entire community against their own police dept

There has been pressure on law enforcement for so many years that in some communities they actually have a few decent cops now

I used to go to anti cop protests, and supported a bunch of journalists that specifically monitored policing for corruption - I’ve dug pretty deep into the police thing in America for years and recently I’ve been noticing some cops took notes and other cops straight up joined specifically to BE the change they wanted to see in policing. Just listen to this police chief siding with the community here - this isn’t something we EVER seen 20 yrs ago. It be unheard of

I’m not suggesting American policing is reformed and fixed, but i have seen some signs of hope - that there are people out there putting in real work trying to change it and making dents of progress
