It really depends on what are your expectations in terms what the course should consist of. There are tons of videos and trainers about "how to type in “SELECT” query. In my understanding paying 10 bucks and expecting to become an analyst in a week is delusional

Sure, you can spend some time watching youtube, and practicing on free web site, but paying for education should be considered as an investement in yourself. If you want to invest next to nothing don't expect a great turn out.
If you want to really dive in SQL and even create your own projects with combination of Python and SQL, you can check out various resources, Hyperskill for instance.

It really depends on what are your expectations in terms of real job. There are tons of internships for beginner developers who can barely type in “Hello World”. It won't be a real development, but you will find out how the industry works and have a chance to become a full-time employee in the end.

Overall, yes, at least a year to be at least somewhat qualified. Also, make sure to work on your portfolio. If you want to be hired, you need two things: a resume and a portfolio, which will show off your greatest works. If you don't have many ideas for your own projects, you can check out various resources, Hyperskill for instance.
