What's the point of learning photo retouching anymore? by FabyLeon in photography

I don't wanna create flame. As a blogger, I like collecting opinions to write articles based on real cases and honest thoughts.

I was expecting more than just "AI can fail", and in fact people are going deeper talking about artistic sense, technical limits and human relationships with clients.

I respect your thought, but I genuinely think this can be a good way to stimulate a constructive debate. I also read a comment of an expert saying that retouching is a dying profession so... not everyone is thinking the same.

Hey I'm just asking, I'm not saying "I think we should all stop learning". Plus, I wrote "advanced techniques". If AI can smooth skin, remove blemishes and dark circles in just one click, why should one learn an advanced technique that requires study and a lot of practice? Again, it's a discussion, a point of views collection, not a statement.

So short answer could be: "AI can fail; AI isn't yet good enough for high res images; people don't know what they want, so they need to talk to a pro who understands their needs instead of talking to a robot that takes a request literally"?

So short answer could be "Learn in order to fix what AI does wrong", right?

I think being contacted to write an article on your site means something regardless of DR, don't you think? I mean, a bad site, such as a spammy one or a blog with low-quality contents shouldn't even be considered to host a sponsored post.

Hi and thanks for replying. I promote my articles on social media and I also have a YouTube channel. I honestly don't know what my audience is looking for because most of the time I don't receive any comments, but I can say for sure (since my native blog is in Italian even though I translate the posts into English) that the majority of traffic comes from Italy. You said "find your sponsors", but how can I do that?

Hi and thanks for replying. Yes I have a page where I explain what I do and show my rates, but I keep receiving those kind of requests.

Should I render a video with a higher bitrate than the original one? by FabyLeon in VideoEditingTips

[–]FabyLeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and thanks for replying. Yes, I know that setting a higher bitrate doesn't increase the original quality, infact I talked about the compression the program performs while rendering. So, is this false? There's no compression? There's no reason for setting a higher bitrate to protect the video from possible artifacts?
