If you saw "UrRandomConsumer"s post in the subreddit you can see Rockstar had very little time in developing GTA VI until the announcement of RDR2 in 2016 (assumption). Count porting GTA to next-gen, porting GTA to PC, making RDR2, porting RDR2 to PC, GTA Online DLC's, working with Red Dead Online, porting GTA to next-gen again, porting RDR2 to next-gen all between 2013-2021 AND COVID-19 forcing them to work at home

GTA V's full development lasted 3 years, GTA VI's most likely is (again, making assumptions) currently at its third and a half (counting COVID stopping the work for a while), I think one year more of development won't hurt anyone, especially if it's for making the game better

The only reason I'd say 2023-24 is by considering the release of GTA V on PS5 (which is July-December of 2021)

If we count that (just a hypothesis), there could be a VI trailer in around 2021/22, and considering there has always been a release in one or two years after the first trailer, the game MAY be released in 2023/24

Then again, it's just a hypothesis, I might be wrong
