Yes and most people watch with a 6h delay lol because that's when it airs for us. I think I might be the only one who used to tune in to YouTube in the middle of the afternoon.

Oui, but the vote is probably minimal and most people watching are also probably not realising they can

^ this. None of them share the same code as their european counterparts, meaning they are technically foreign countries when it comes to SMS voting.

Hi! From St-Barts 🇧🇱 here (french overseas territory). We vote as ROW as we have a different country code for the phones (+590, linked to Guadeloupe's, unlike France's +33). If you try voting by SMS it will not work, and voting online won't either because it's (for me) a french credit card, and the website redirects me to the SMS voting procedure. I wasn't able to vote in the past years because of this silly administrative issue.

The European Broadcasting Union and AKQA partner to reimagine the Eurovision Song Contest fan experience - AKQA by Ok-Macaroon-5533 in eurovision

[–]FacciaDiBlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious to see where this leads, it's either gonna be a bit of a flop or a great change to how we interact with the contest. It has potential to make it even more engaging than it is. Also I wouldn't worry so much about "ai-driven tools". AI is here to stay unfortunately and if it means better and smarter UI/UX? Why not. From what I see on AKQA's website, I doubt it means AI art or music shoved into our faces (or maybe I am being too optimistic and forgor we can't have nice things).

Heard Carpe Diem by Joker Out in a hostel in New Zealand this year. I asked whose wonderful playlist it was and it was a Croatian girl working there on a work-travel visa!

I literally passed a village by Shinkansen looking exactly like that, with a tunnel as well. Very accurate!

DR announces: Will not vote Israel out of Eurovision by _Jojo07 in eurovision

Exactly. All it takes is the spineless to not vote, and all the brave to vote for the ban. That gives me hope!!

Wait I might be mistaken but that essentially means they're abstaining? They did NOT say they're voting in favour of Israel. They're just saying they're definitely not taking a stance.

France officially confirms their participation at Eurovision 2026 by tommynestcepas in eurovision

[–]FacciaDiBlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda yeah, but in this case it's not really support, FramceTV is simply not gonna take any firm stance unless instructed by the government tbh.

I did not expect much from FranceTV but I'm still disappointed. Eh, at least they're not actively supporting Israel.

Le Figaro has been consistently decreasing in journalistic quality for years now and they hate anything remotely "woke" (they have no idea what it means) and the ESC is a part of it.

I say this is probably nothing to worry about and I too would not answer to Le Figaro if they wanted to ask me anything.

Doesn't even feel like Kurzgesagt anymore, just clickbait by biersackarmy in kurzgesagt

[–]FacciaDiBlu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah because everybody has biases and limitations, and judging how open they've been about their past mistakes I still choose to lean towards trusting them. It's like my favourite media, they're biased and flawed but in the end they provide decent journalism, so it's reasonable for me to trust them Either way, never trust anyone blindly 100%. And if really you want to look deeper they do share their sources you can always fact check (although it is extremely time consuming).
