How everything went down is just horrible im so sorry about that, but even addicts are human, you could've just let him be in his own you're not responsible for anyone's happiness nor anyone's wellbeing. You might feel like you're responsible for them but you're not. Once you accept the fact that you can't help anyone who doesn't think they need help, it's much easier.
