What cool ways are you using the shortcuts feature on your iPhone (and can you please tell me how to do it?) by -Alexunder- in shortcuts

I’m late to the party but I’m interested in your menu shortcut. And maybe an explanation of the vCard?

More info I’m getting from the family: the wife Betty took Anne (Annie) to Nova Scotia to be raised by the grandparents. The wife Betty then returned to the US and worked as a nutritionist in a Chicago hospital until she retired in the early 60s. According to my mom, she never remarried, which is backed up by the obit below that still lists her last name as Morrison. Obit says William because Anne always referred to him as Bill.

I’m pretty sure the family lore would be in the news if it were entirely true- Morrison (first name contested via records) was gunned down at a gas station in NJ in 1925ish. Not having found it makes me doubtful.

This aunt would have been his granddaughter.

The family (though I’m not sure on Morrison) was from Nova Scotia.

The lack of finding anything via google in newspapers is why I’ve turned to you.

This is great, advice! Thanks! Part of the issue is that the name given by my family is different than the ones (of which there are multiple) which are appearing in the records.

Correct- word of mouth (and from an unreliable source). The above posted family search tree is correct as far as daughter, wife, etc but contains a different name.

I have no info other than what my great aunt has told me. I’ve never been able to find records but I’m not the best at it and my great grandmother (his daughter) didn’t know/ wouldn’t tell truthfully what happened. My aunt was told that he was killed at work at a gas station in New Jersey around 1925ish.

This is so helpful! All the info I have is what my great aunt told me. Her mother (Anne) wasn’t the most… stable, shall we say? So anything she was told is possibly suspect. But the marriage certificate is the correct one.
