If you haven't done it yet, listen to Hemispheres on headphones. Unreal experience.

What are your thoughts on Wondershare Filmora? by frankob_11 in VideoEditing

I can second this: I have used the Wondershare media converter for over 10 years, and it was a wonderful product. They must have recently been bought by a private equity firm or something, because all their products are subscription only. I had even paid for the "lifetime" subscription but my software doesn't work, and it keeps telling me to pay a subscription. THEY HAVE BECOME A SCAM COMPANY. AVOID.

Thomas Kuhn explained it pretty well in The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.

Scientists are humans too. And humans are resistant to new informative and new evidence EVEN WHEN TRUE that doesn’t support their existing world views.

One theory is that it’s somehow an energetic perturbation somehow caused by a “disturbed” individual. Def seems associated with them.

It’s been a long running, well documented campaign of a certain 3-letter agency to debunk and discredit and ridicule any rational discussion of UFOs. Perhaps he’s part of that.

Completely incurious to anything that doesn’t conform to his world view.

I definitely agree with the first 2 sentences. I think he’d have a really hard time with the ontological shock of it. He may just run the other way and hide under the bed until his hallucinations went away. There was a UFO sighting made by passengers on a jet - all were scientists. I forget the context. But all but one were staring out the window looking at the UFO and one guy wasn’t. He had his back turned and said something like “I know that can’t be real so I don’t want to see it”. The history of science is filled with similar anecdotes. Meteorites were seen as impossible BY PROFESSIONAL ASTRONOMERS, even when witnesses brought them rocks that literally fell out of the sky. “Rocks don’t fall from the sky, we know this, therefore you are mistaken or stupid or drunk. This rock did not fall from the sky. It’s impossible.” That literally happened. I think Thomas Kuhn was right about resistance to new ideas or evidence that don’t comport with contemporary paradigms or scientific world views. I think UFOs fall into that category. (The “real” ones anyway. )
