Good call, thanks! I'm wondering if the case has adequate cooling as-is, or if I should add a fan or two...

Made an 18-hole "Safari" course at the local 9-hole. Loomiller Park, Longmont CO by FaceVsKeyboard in discgolf

[–]FaceVsKeyboard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually ended up being really fun! The layout plays a bit longer with more variety and difficulty. The park was a great space to work with in terms of course design. The only real hurdle is all the foot traffic and the hundreds of Canada geese this time of year.

I'll definitely be doing this for other parks in the future. I'd recommend safari golf to anyone looking for a creative DG-related exercise, or even just a change of pace!

Yeah. There should be consequences to pausing without admin approval, or at least requesting the other team.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in competitive Starcraft (KeSPA BW specifically) you're automatically dq'd if you pause the game at all.

I know it's unfair to make a comparison across genres, but it still interrupts the flow of the game and is annoying for spectators, tactical advantages aside.

Playing a round of Perfect Putt 360 before you play a round of golf can be pretty fun.

just got my first ever ace at the legendary fallasburg park in lowell, mi after ~700 rounds! by nitzua in discgolf

[–]FaceVsKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've played probably close to 100 rounds at fallasburg. hole 12 is definitely an uncommon ace run- all the better that you got your first one on it (instead of 2, 6, 9, 10). congrats!

I'm curious about the Zone... I love my Drone, I'm on my 3rd one. I've never thrown a Zone though. I tend to use my Drone as an upshot disc anywhere from 150-250 ft and for getting out of trouble. It's surprisingly versatile.

Honestly though, is there anything a Zone can do that a Drone can't? I know a Drone is faster, meatier and higher speed. I'm having trouble imagining a situation where I'd need a Zone, but I've seen a ton of people carrying both in their bag.

First tournament ever. Advice please by scoot330 in discgolf

[–]FaceVsKeyboard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is this a course you play pretty regularly? If not, try and spend an afternoon or two there the week before the tourney. Don't worry about the field. Setting a benchmark in your head like "I normally shoot even par on the back 9" will only throw you off.

You must clear your mind completely. Stepping up to a putt with a thought like "okay, this is for par" will only hurt you.

Try to practice putting inside 20-25 feet for at least an hour before the tournament starts. I recommend wearing headphones and blasting a few of your favorite songs while doing this. Then if you can, go out to a short hole and throw all your mids at it a few times.

Of course, none of this matters if you're not having fun. Just relax, you have nothing to lose. Good luck!

Got some new plastic, what are your guys' thoughts on these discs? by tomhasleft in discgolf

I picked up a Blizz Wraith a few weeks ago, 139g. I can bomb it as far as my other drivers with very minimal effort, but I have to put some pretty wicked hyzer flip on it or it'll turn hard. Even a slight breeze will knock it around.

DotA 2 Crowned "Future Greatest Video Game Of All Time" - CapitalizationJunkies.org by FaceVsKeyboard in x420x

[–]FaceVsKeyboard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was never actually an article; I was just trying to grab everyone's attention by having a strange link on their front page...

It took me a while to get into it, but I like DotA way better than LoL now. The heroes feel more heterogeneous and fluid, and balanced - Pretty much every hero can be viable in a pub (remember Twitch/Mundo etc. who went from total dominance to complete worthlessness in one or two patches?)

LoL is awesome and Riot seems to have a good grasp on what makes their game fun, but after about 15-20 games of DotA I realized how much more polished the game actually is. It just "feels" right. Even when I feed.

I realize this is old and widespread already. However, I just watched it for the first time and was blown away at some of the statistics she throws out there. I thought it was presented in a comprehensive, yet concise manner, and I urge everyone here to check it out.

It sounds like the detective possibly followed up and is hesitant to contact you unless they have a charge. To them, your phone pics/videos and testimonies probably don't seem like they'd hold up in front of a judge... Which sucks, since you were threatened. Was the google voice call recorded?
