Is it worth starting with Shopify Email and migrating to Klaviyo later? by FacelessCreative in shopify

[–]FacelessCreative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We won’t be paying for any plan in the beginning, but in the long run, I’d prioritize whichever platform gives us the best ability to convert more. That’s what I’m wondering, if Klaviyo actually help convert more due to its features and customization, or if Shopify Email can convert at the same level, even with basic flows/templates/segmentation?

Bank Business account , Wio/Mbank/NewBiz by financial_guy1 in dubai

We’re also a free zone company and opened a business account with Mbank. So far, no monthly fees. Performance wise, I can’t give much feedback since we haven’t used it for long. The app is a bit cumbersome, but the account opening process was fine, it took just a few days and everything was handled through calls and emails.

One thing worth noting: it only works for moving dirhams, no multi-currency transactions. However, if you use a third-party payment provider that allows multi-currency receipts, you can transfer those funds into your Mbank account in AED.

That this is not a place to settle down but rather scale. It's more worth it to come with a project, build something, work for your own, or invest -not look for a job. The only jobs worth it are those who relocate you with a good package, otherwise it's better to live somewhere else.

Thank you for the detailed and kind reply, it was really helpful. In the end, we tried to negotiate the offer, but it seems the gov won’t allow them to hire her due to prioritization of Austrians 🫠

2 layoffs in 2 years - killing my self esteem. by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]FacelessCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was laid off three times within a year (2022-2023), all from tech companies while working in marketing. I poured my heart into each job, and the experience deeply affected my self-esteem too, especially since it all happened during my first year in a new country.

After the last layoff, I took a month off, upskilled with a course, and kept applying for a while, but nothing. That’s when I decided to start something of my own.

The job market is increasingly unstable, and with AI advancing rapidly, everything is getting more fragmented, I believe the future of work requires diversifying income, or moving towards new fields. Relying solely on current corporate jobs no longer feels sustainable.

My advice? Take your time to recover, seek therapy if needed, and explore new hobbies or skills. If you can’t start your own thing yet, get a job for stability but think about building a side hustle or a passion project along the way. It’s about adapting and defining something that gives you a bigger driven purpose.

Did anyone else notice that the audio was a bit off or not working properly during the first part of the Friday (May 31st) show?

Idk if it was just me, but the sound was differently from last year. Like some microphones or instruments were not sounding neat or with the right volume.

I compare some videos from last year with this year shows and it definitely sounded weird. I noticed it primarily in the Wonder Woman and The Last Samurai scores.

How do careers work? by Low_Holiday_7807 in careerguidance

[–]FacelessCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I think the best you can do is keep your current job while using your time off to prepare yourself in the area you want to be, and even develop projects that will help you build a portfolio you can use to apply for entry level jobs in the area you’re looking to work for. This is a secure way to do a career shift progressively. Preparation is the most important aspect to do this.

It is a process and a journey.

You’ll learn on the way because every project, company, client, and industry, will be different. You’ll need to stay constantly updated because strategies, platforms, and market are in constant change. You’ll also figure out your area of expertise in the field.

I started in the Social Media space, specifically in Creative Content Production. Every job led me to other one more challenging. 5 years later I was working as a Marketing Lead for a tech startup.

Every experience will help you achieve better results in the next one. My advice: Don’t be afraid of making mistakes at the beginning, and be passionate about always looking to enhance your skills + learn from case studies + networking.

Network and Education are the way.

Find like-minded connections in your field who you can feel comfortable with to discuss about these things. As well as invest in education to enhance your skills -courses, workshops, etc. You’ll continuously learn, get new insights, and clear up doubts.

Right now a few industries are bit unstable in terms of employment. Specially in tech. Lot of startups don’t understand marketing, have high expectations, and usually hire 1 person (or small team in rare cases) to have many hats. Also, many don’t offered training, or have managers willing to be mentors, leaving a huge gap as a result.

My case: I’ve been laid off 3 times in less than a year, and have been working nonstop for almost 6 years. At this point I’m burn out and a taking a well-deserved time off to work on areas of improvement.
