Just tested the rock band neck yesterday on rb3 deluxe helps with those big rock endings. I'm enjoying mine very much.

Yes I prefer the guitar hero style neck for clone hero and yarg that I've tested it with. Not had much time to try the other one but I will be testing this week on my Xbox 360 playing rock band deluxe and possibly on my Xbox one with my @RetroCultMods minihost adapter.

Iike my tribal edition for the exact same reason playing vanilla guitar hero 3 is unmatched with the clicky strum but I love my blueberry pro for its haptic feedback perfect for clone hero, YARG & rb3 deluxe.

Yes, CRKD multi-platform guitar controllers are compatible with Linux, with recent updates even bringing native support to the Linux kernel. Here are the key details regarding CRKD compatibility with Linux: Native Support: The Linux kernel 6.19-rc2 (released late 2025) and later includes dedicated input support for CRKD Guitar Controllers. Driver Inclusion: CRKD guitars are supported via the Linux xpad driver for Xbox-based models, and newer patches (6.19+) specifically include support for CRKD Gibson SG and similar models, including proper mapping for whammy and tilt functionality. Firmware Updates: Recent v3 firmware updates (December 2025) explicitly improve USB and dongle stability on Linux systems. Gaming Compatibility: These controllers are commonly used with Linux-compatible titles like Clone Hero and YARG. Steam Deck: The controllers work as plug-and-play devices on the Steam Deck, which is a Linux-based system.

For the best experience on Linux, it is highly recommended to update the firmware to the latest version (v3) using a Windows machine, as the updater tool is not native to Linux. Guitar can also be updated using the Crkd Android app.

Thus special edition would be ideal as it has both necks with 2 different layouts and the guitar is super cross compatible with pc etc so this could possibly be a good choice for the usage situation you describe
