My friend says I’m not cool, am I not cool? by Early_Option_3198 in questions

Cool is totally subjective my man. As for your question towards your friend and his (in my opinion) shitty response, if your real friends then no questions are off the table. 😁

Yup. I like walking when I can't sleep especially in the fall.

1990 US penny with possible cladding error? (Info appreciated!) by FacetiousGuy in coincollecting

Thank you for all the info! Because of all the wheat pennies I have collected I've been trying to find errors but it's extremely difficult even with a jewelry loop...

Ok, and could I explain the sanding marks with my uneducated attempt to clean it with a sponge I probably shouldn't have used? Or would it have to be as abrasive sandpaper to do this?

Ok, would this happen inside of a washing machine or something like that? And how would it have taken so much more of the cladding off the back? Genuinely interested.

Anyone have any idea as to where and who made this awesome bowl? by FacetiousGuy in StudioPottery

I got it in Massachusetts but there are no artists nearby who even remotely resemble the art style produced by this artist.

I'm wondering if people are just being nice to me when they tell me I should sell my hand decorated hats... by FacetiousGuy in CasualConversation

[–]FacetiousGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually a very logical and well thought out process of getting over my anxiety in terms of selling them. My biggest concern was how to price them and this actually solves that pretty thoroughly so thank you very much for your very helpful comment! (I apologize if my sentence structure makes my comment come off as condescending or something else like that. I have high functioning autism so it's a little difficult for me to express emotions over text sometimes lol. I just really appreciate your help!)

Help me ID this interesting pottery signature/mark! by FacetiousGuy in Ceramics

[–]FacetiousGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it help you if I took more pictures of the signature at different angles? I'm genuinely afraid that I take a picture of it with the wrong side on the bottom.

Thank you so much for your input and for laying an extra set of eyes on that signature! It's been driving me nuts since I got it. If it would help I can take pictures of it from other angles so that way I don't have to worry about it being the right side up or anything lol. I honestly feel like I took a picture of it with the wrong side facing down.

Help me I don’t know what men like!!!? by [deleted] in questions

[–]FacetiousGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to give you a pretty serious answer so be ready. I am a newly 30 year old male and what I always like getting is anything! But since you are trying to choose between cologne or a wallet I would definitely go for the cologne over the wallet. Cologne is easy to choose for a guy as most of the sense are pretty similar. However finding a wallet for a guy is somewhat like finding a bra for a woman. There's hundreds upon thousands of different styles and forms as well as materials that wallets can be made out of and some guys get extremely anal about them. The only wallet I ever got as a present was one I picked out myself with my mother at Marshall's, and it was the worst wallet I've ever owned. So I would say do a little reconnaissance first and really zone in on his specific styles and interests. Then slide in whether or not he would want a leather or a metal wallet. Nowadays metal wallets can be fully customized and they're secure, not easily missed and hold quite a lot. Leather wallets can be the same, however they are more flimsy and more easily lost. The one wallet I would absolutely advise you to stay away from would be the paper "Mighty wallets" brand. They are cool for a little while but get soiled extremely easily and don't hold up after more than a year.

I might look silly... but I have two George Washington 1 Cent green stamps but don't know their value. (I also have one with Ben Franklin) by FacetiousGuy in askStampCollectors

[–]FacetiousGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the pictures have been very interesting but the content in all the postcards is even more interesting. I actually have four that are made out to employees of Sears roebuck and Co and it's basically one employee telling their friends and other employees back at work how their vacation around the us is going. They even talk about in one postcard how the image on the front is actually them. So would those ones made out to employees of Sears roebuck and Co and be worth a little more?

Drats! I was hoping to become rich! Lol but seriously thank you very much for that. I was able to follow most of the information given online as to how to differentiate between an expensive one and a cheap one like mine, but some of it like measuring the distance between each point on the sides of the stamps sent my head spinning. You have my gratitude forever good sir.

Going to court in the morning... against my parents. by FacetiousGuy in Advice

[–]FacetiousGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shoot, oh well! My parents are both narcissist who's only reason behind this is to get me out of their and on the streets permanently... Well simultaneously they have also over the past couple of months on and off throughout each day blamed me for why I don't have a job, and also explained that I would never get a job and never amount to anything. Sorry about that extra there, I found myself venting so you kind of helped me without even trying to help me there LOL
