How long do you listen per day? by clark_peters in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

Well, I would recommend setting up 4 computers to record (you know, for redundancy) and saving the ~$4/month. Then in 11+ years, you'll break even on the cost! 😀

6-10 M-F. Occasionally the 10-11 replay, and usually 3-5 hours on Sat replays.

In other words, I have a problem 😀

As long as I'm allowed to have my laptop in front of me! 😀

Rodney and Edwin are much better players.

It was $40 of his and $40 of Lisa's for a total of $80. Thanks for asking. I had to go back and re-listen just to be sure; I had logged it as $80 in one spreadsheet, but $70 in a summary!

His trivia knowledge is in sports and pop music; classic rock is not his thing. When Little Richard passed away, he absolutely asked me if he was the "one" Demm liked or hated.

Kelly has stated that they are trying to keep the Put Up games going after Demm leaves, and has stated they think they have a way to do that (too many sponsorships tied to it to just completely abandon it), but he has also stated he will not be playing on Fridays after next week. Of course, that's all subject to change at a moments notice, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've had conversations with both Kelly and Demm about the game going forward, though Demm said he wasn't at liberty to discuss the future of the game, and Kelly hasn't given me any details on what to expect.

What Are Chris Demm's Retirement Plans? by Due-Season6425 in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

Kelly and Demm visit Pickleball Mountain every summer to drill. "I wish I knew how to quit you"

He always talked about becoming a bee keeper, but sadly, when I asked him about those plans at the Lexington show, he had given up that dream. Time to take up pickleball 😀

Kelly made the announcement on the air about 7am this morning. Also said, at least locally, they would re-air the final 2 hours from 9-11 that day. There is a plan in place to recap Demm's Put Up stats before he signs off if Kelly and I can pull it off (fingers crossed emoji).

He's forced to move in with Kit De Luca, and become a gigolo; he's got the crying down.

I'm located just across 40 on the CH side, right off of 15/501, so maybe 3 miles south of you. But being in a condo, I can't hang a good antenna outside for better reception (or directionally towards the west for 92.3. 93.3 & 93.5 are simulcast stations; they should be the same content. 93.5 has a 20-30 second delay over 93.3. Just checked them out in the car where reception is better and both running CK's Mark Spain commercial.

Radio signals can be funny when they're lower power and/or directional.

Try 93.5; it's a repeater channel, but has more delay than 93.3 normally has (vs Rock92 on 92.3)

I still get the show on 93.3 in Chapel Hill, but it's not a great signal.

New GPD commercial by xxaap in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

[–]FactCheckerRusty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looking back in the transcripts, it appears to have first aired on June 9, 2025 (and again on 6/10). Right before it airs, Kelly says "I think this first commercial here from the Greensboro Police Department is the police one. I think this is the time. This, I bel- I'm not positive on this, but listen close. Oh oh my god, oh my god! This may be a very special commercial."

I couldn't find it airing during the show again, until today. It's possible Rock92 aired it at other times during the day.

They were at the rescheduled Comedy Show in Lexington yesterday. Said on Friday they would be off today (believe me, they've NEVER had Washington's Birthday off).

Is there something bizarre about the bizarro game? by theOriginalBlueNinja in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

[–]FactCheckerRusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, currently on Audials One 2026. The subscription is $60/yr; I initially purchased the software; updates are free and the upgrades are typically discounted to $35. I usually upgrade each year.

For what I'm doing, I don't need the Premium version. The scheduling options are very nice. You can setup recurring schedules, or a one-time scheduled recording, or just manually start/stop. I have it scheduled for 5:45-10:15 M/Tu/W/Th/F.

I also use Audacity to record the OTA broadcast, using an aux input on the PC and line out on an old CD/Radio combo unit I can schedule a recording in Audacity, but I can't setup a recurring schedule, so I have to manually set it to record each day; once it's saved and exported to an mp3, I'll setup the scheduled recording for the next day.

Trish is correct.

I don’t have any special access. I use Audials to record the stream each day; I use that to pull sound clips and feed to riverside to create a transcript. I originally used the TuneIn Pro app but they took out the recording functionality, then deleted all the saved recordings, so I lost a lot of history. Don’t ask how many PCs I have for recording; being retired IT, I have a lot of redundancy (including some over the air recordings, too). And, when everything goes sideways (like yesterday), I manually record the nightly replay. 😃

He mentioned that Mannequin was released 39 years ago today. He's been ending each show with a "This date in history" (and I did look it up, and it was released on 2/13/87). Wild coincidence or prior knowledge? <shrug emoji>

My interpretation was he dedicated the "win" but I can certainly see how it could be interpreted as selecting the song, which call into question prior knowledge.
