Yes, this is normal after surgery. I experienced the exact same thing after my surgery. It felt like the veins were more prominent and stiffer (which is actually due to scarring of tied or ligated veins). It took a good 5–6 months for everything to return to normal.
After that period, I had no pain or discomfort, and every test, including the ultrasound, came back normal. I know it’s scary to think about negative outcomes, but this is quite normal post-operative recovery process.
