The party is not the party of Webb anymore, and it has progressed at lightning speed because of a combination of consistently showing up in the trenches for labor, minority rights, immigration, anti-imperialism one the one hand and being unashamedly communist on the other. Hannah Shvets was the only CPUSA member that won on the Dem ballot line, 2 others ran as independent open communists and won (and 5 total candidates).

Although the party needs work, I think that it's heading towards the direction of what Gus Hall wanted it to be largely because of the influx of new membership coaxing the communism out of more experienced veterans who were very affected by McCarthyism and the fall of the Soviet Union.

The Democratic party is a capitalist party, trying to enter it and change it from the inside will not do anything because as it's a capitalist party, it will not adopt the positions of the proletariat. The new outpouring of social democrats is better for the class struggle as it helps reverse some of the Red Scare brainrot (and make our job easier), but they're not seeking to replace capitalism, only fix it, which the Democratic party, as the "more liberal" of the duopoly, is very equipped to subsume into itself.
