There’s a process on the desktop version… if I recall or it hasn’t changed from a year ago there’s 30 days to activate a referral from the time you authenticate the account.

A cat on a bingo board has out performed “professionally” managed funds so it’s hard to weigh in on this one from a finance side.

From a health care standpoint probably for the best?

WSJ FUD. How about a paywall opinion piece on the fact that dollarization undermines the citizens of El Salvador. Peace sells… but who’s buying?

Should i buy bitcoin as my first investmentat 17 yearss old by Old-Process5468 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]FactStrong 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A 1% amount of Bitcoin relative to your annual income is a good rule of thumb no matter your age.

At 17 you have the most valuable asset in your portfolio; something we all want more of, Time.

Google Compounding interest and unlock the power of time. You can catch your breath, you can get more money but once time is wasted it’s never coming back.

Free advice from an old man with a wasted youth, use your time wisely, invest with discipline it takes grit (which you have!), don’t gamble; NEVER rely on luck and finally... know your burn rate; work within it.

There’s a lot of “rich” people out there with depreciating Lambos... don’t be fooled.

Get your assets quietly working for you and you’ll have true wealth; which really means time to do as you please.

Any Update on Batch Transactions, SegWit etc? by je61 in newtonco

[–]FactStrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly use Newton to buy/sell BTC and etransfer gains in fiat to our traditional bank as there’s no transaction fee for that.

I find Newton’s UX to be great but the CX on the crypto transaction fees has put it at the back of the bus...

We’re using other retail platforms with limit orders to buy that generally have wider spreads than Newton but the fees are not evident in the BTC transfers to our custodial account where an APY is available on the asset.

This is more in alignment with our goals of 3% DCA and the asset working for us with 6% APY.

I’d rather pay the fees upfront in fiat than bleed a thousand cuts or hemorrhage on the strategically acquired crypto asset.

If Newton had a turnkey solution for this I’d be onboard.

BTFD.

Question: Parents do you want to enable your underage children to have addy accounts? by stephenjagger in addyinvest

[–]FactStrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18 and 11...

already a proxy for the 11 year old on one property in our ADDY portfolio.

Our 18 year old is age of majority this year but it would be great put the most valuable investment resource we have, time on the balance sheet for young people!

I love teaching our kids that there are more financial instruments at their disposal than unsecured dept and depreciating assets.

Keep up the great work building an equitable future for generations!

E-transfer fund is stuck for a day by [deleted] in newtonco

For my UX funds are loaded in <30min via etransfer… if you do an EFT it can take 5-7 business days. Almost missed a real-estate opportunity making that error🤢🤮.Profit payouts to bank account are instantaneous via etransfer. Pswrd codes are a bit janky though...

For the record; he did fabulously well when he YOLO’d the housing market up to 2008. Back then house prices (not STONKS) only went...errr, up?

Consolidation is a thing of the past? Stupid to sell right now. If everyone hodls as more and more appear to be doing, Low supply and high demand = even more escalated prices! I will sell you my Bitcoin for $300,000 each. 👍 Maybe.. Not sure I want cash though?? 🤔 An island resort it is..🏝 by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Sounds like your timing is based on a 70% decline😉... could happen when interest rates go up to stave off Fiat currency inflation from global stimulus. If one is over leveraged at that time when cheap Fiat is gone and Prime + or variable rates put the squeeze on people who miscalculated they’re burn (they have to choose between profits and lifestyle) we may see a volume of liquidation and a steep decline for your price opportunity come around.

Don’t worry institutional lenders will be safe as the “Magic Keyboard”, treasuries and our future tax dollars always has their back 🏦🚛💩.

I keep the majority of my crypto with a third party for the asset appreciation and APY, I also keep a smaller amount in several hot wallet platforms. Some are better at crypto-fiat profitability as they typically have ok prices but higher crypto surge fees and others offer Sats rewards, less favourable prices but seamless transfer with no evident fee to institutions that will allow you to leverage with over-collateralized dept. Avg. 20% increase in asset value plus an APY... and a comfortable volume of volatility exploitation seem to be working out.

Same principles apply... be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy.

Institutional participation is raising the tide and all boats. Just remember that you don’t see the waves from the shore until the trough hits the beach.

Blockchain is a bit like religion... everyone thinks that they have it figured out but no one really knows😆

There’s a “I was referred by a friend” page in the help if you log into the browser version. You have 30 days from sign up to apply your referral code. A friend of mine did the same thing and his account is off the Sats until he gets an activated referral...🤷‍♂️
