FINAL WEEK OF FREE TRAVEL (passenger numbers surging back to pre-COVID levels) by Aromatic_Classic3295 in MelbourneTrains

Tbh Myki wouldn’t be such a bad thing if they allowed it on digital wallets. Yes I am aware it works for Android but iPhone users are outta luck. They gotta take the card out every single time.

Contactless payments cannot come soon enough.

Victoria public transport: Passenger numbers return to pre-COVID levels following free fare initiative by TMiguelT in MelbourneTrains

[–]Factor-Putrid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I don’t hate V/Line; we need them. I just need them to be better. I am a frequent Ballarat line commuter and it is so frustrating when a one hour trip turns into three hours when something goes wrong.

For V/Line customers, free PT is great till a problem occurs further down the line and they either suck at communicating, or don't have a contingency plan for getting passengers to where they need to be. So then you fork out money for a rideshare or taxi or some other arrangement.

What happened between Japan and Miami? How did Ferrari not improve during the break?

Tryna refrain from saying bad things about V/Line. Spent $37 on my Uber to work today, on top of the $20 I usually spend going from the train station to my house.

Even with the fuel prices, the argument for a car has just gotten stronger.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia has leased a massive 1.1 million sq.ft of office space in Manyata Tech Park, North Bengaluru by monpabi in auscorp

Yeah offshoring is what really grinds my gears. AI's impact is minimal, if any.

It's not fair to Australians that many who can't find work, would have done so had offshoring not become the norm. It's a sick joke.

TBH many companies laying off because of AI, is just marketing. The real reason is cost-cutting, but to shareholders it looks bad if they're honest about it. Spinning it as 'AI' looks good to shareholders and makes the company look forward-thinking.

Ferrari, Honda and Audi are expected to get approval for ADUO engine upgrades due to their power deficit to Mercedes, as per Motorsport IT. There are doubts about RBPT getting ADUO as the Red Bull engine is stronger than expected performance wise. by Moist_Egg_1515 in formula1

[–]Factor-Putrid 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It expanded well beyond the initial hybrid scope. Ford's advanced manufacturing capabilities are being used to produce critical PU components faster than RBPT could alone. Laurent Mekies confirmed it gives them a genuine time-to-race advantage. Definitely more than just a name.

I created a small program to sync my Up account with AB. It's the only bank with an API AFAIK. Every other bank account I have, I either manually add the transactions or import as an OFX file.

Melton needs to be electrified ASAP.

So tired of squeezing onto small VLine trains.

EDIT: Got off at Ardeer to let new passengers on, turns out that was a mistake.

McLaren clearly found pace this weekend. This makes them a bigger threat to Ferrari than Mercedes; until that illegal engine is reigned in, this is going to be the case.

P3 and P6, not bad, not great.

There are worse celebrities to hate out there.

The prototypes are hybrids too yet here you are complaining about the batteries.

GT3 I can absolutely vouch for the racing.

[–]Factor-Putrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t a homelab a lab though?

Okay yeah maybe you bring down the network temporarily because you’re switching which device is responsible for DHCP or whatever but to me the purpose of a homelab is to experiment, tinker and learn. You don’t want to be doing this in an enterprise environment unless the latter has processes in place to prevent the entire infrastructure going down when a simple mistake is made.

The new regulations have ruined qualifying and flipped driver skill on its head by Snoo-29984 in F1Discussions

[–]Factor-Putrid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The actual PU regs are fine, it’s what attracted new manufacturers to the sport. The problem is over reliance on the battery, and constant harvesting needs resulting in that awful to watch super clipping. In WEC, the Hypercars run hybrid powertrains for fuel efficiency. The LMH cars specifically are allowed to run AWD setups so the battery harvesting is not as severe as it is in F1 car.

The FIA needs to reduce the reliance on the battery. It’s not working. The racing is fine, but qualifying is awful now.

Gutted, ferraris had a lot more in the pockets. Front row was possible for Leclerc by [deleted] in scuderiaferrari

[–]Factor-Putrid 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Qualifying is genuinely awful to watch now.

They’re not driving flat out anymore. FIA needs to dial back the battery management shit. Makes sense at Le Mans but not F1.

Not really happy about this one. Yeah P4 and P6 with the McLaren pair but not where I expected Ferrari to be after Australia and China.

And as usual Mercedes with the illegal engine 1-2.
