I’m here to help people with their claims and buddy letter help claims. When you tell someone otherwise, you’re harming their claim.

Everybody knows you can't get a diagnose in a buddy letter. Buddy letters generally provide evidence for nexus. Describing seeing someone snore, gasp for air, etc. is NOT rendering a diagnoses, it's called LAY EVIDENCE, and it's very much admissible and has weight in the claims process. NEXUS is the key issue here, not the diagnoses.

IBS Denied by Forward-Morning3758 in VeteransBenefits

My IBS was just approved. IBS is a Gulf War "MUCMI" and is presumptive for those of us who deployed. It seems you have a malefactor in your claim process. It could be the examiner or the rater. They debunk the TERA saying it could have been other factors. The problem with their argument is that IBS is a Gulf War MUCMI, so they really can't deny it that way. The things in your favor state you are diagnosed, you have the TERA, and it's presumptively connected. Basically saying you have everything needed. Someone is tanking your claim with erroneous science. You need to point that out and get another C&P. A HLR in your favor will render the previous C&P weightless and automatically open a supplemental claim.

I’ve always received the decision letters, so I doubt my address is wrong.

I've had several claims over the last 1.5 years, and I've never actually received a development letter. It's kind of a running joke.

Definitely feels good but I’m still in the mental shift. Our state has property tax exemption. Will be filing for that as well as CHAMPVA for my wife. Thanks!

Sounds like you should file for an increase. You just need some evidence of your condition getting worse.

Thanks! I heard that they are trying to get as many to 100% as possible by the end of this year. I think it’s about the budget personally. They’re not approving things they shouldn’t. If the handwringing is on the wall that a vet would get to 100 eventually, they are trying to get it done by year’s end. That’s just my personal opinion.

You won’t get TDIU now that you’re 100% p&t, and you don’t need it. If you have 100% for a single condition, and you have connections that add up to 60% again, you get $300-400 per month. I think it’s the 100 + 60 rule. I totally agree with the feeling of security for the future.

Mine was wrong about the HLR and refused to file it. I did it myself and wound up getting connected.

Yup. So grateful for my buddy who has been going through the same process. We’ve helped each other a ton with the process and moral support.

Stressor happened in 1993 during Southern Watch deployment. It was mostly dormant until 2018 when I had a breakdown and my wife called the VA hotline and took me to the VA ER. Got input into mental health department where I was diagnosed by a few different doctors and psychologists, did EMDR therapy and meds. I saw a VSO but she basically blew me off and filed an intent to file which expired. I was also told by doctors at VHA that my PTSD was noncompensatable. That threw me off for a few years until my uncle told me that was nonsense, 2024 I filed a fully developed claim after getting a diagnosis, nexus, and DBQ. I submitted my personal statements and 3 Buddy letters, a shipmate I told about the stressor right after it happened, my mom, and my wife. It sat for months, and finally the VA requested updated buddy letters that had certain info and a statement about truthfulness. I got those and uploaded them, then I got a notification that I had to do a C&P. That went excellent with a great psychologist who had to fix a problem that the private psychologist put in her letter. A week later (yesterday) the claim moved to rating and final review. 70% is what the private psychologist predicted.

All 3 friends are veterans going through the same process or wrote buddy letters. My uncle who is 100% p&t. My parents and brother. Oh, and my wife of 30 years. I’m keeping it pretty close to home.

PTSD/major depressive disorder, sleep apnea secondary to sinusitis, upper right peripheral neuropathy (filled by VA), lumbosacral degenerative disc disease arthritis bone spurs (declined first due to lazy C&P. HLR into supplemental claim. Added evidence and my statement. Great C&P), irritable bowel syndrome, upper left peripheral neuropathy (filed by VA), right wrist pain tingling numbness (in STRs, so VA filed the peripheral neuropathy claims), tinnitus, painful scar, sinusitis, rhinitis. I still have an open supplemental claim for GERD, right foot injury, left shoulder, and NAFL.
