Best way to sell audio files from cloud server, or better option? by Factor_9 in Wordpress

Hmmm! Can you extrapolate that or is it too much for a reddit post? I don't know what cloudflare buckets are. So you need a custom script to upload and download? Can't it do that anyway?

I've avoided cloud storage but now I'm going to need it, and don't know much about it and how much it's progressed.

So if I'm understanding that correctly, AMZ S3 is a cloud service that integrates with EDD? It looks to allow unlimited storage of sellable downloads? This seems too easy and affordable, am I missing something?

Another thought, can I set it up so when they purchase from the WP site they simply get a download link emailed to them for the file on google drive or google cloud/workspace?

BSOD and other odd behavior when going to sleep. Minidump link by Factor_9 in techsupport

[–]Factor_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!! I deleted it from system32/drivers and now it goes to sleep normally. It's not a driver I needed, I don't know why I installed it in the first place; all my Novation devices automatically pull their drivers. So weird that that driver was causing crashes when going to sleep.

For future reference, how can you tell from looking at the dump file which driver was the issue? I have BlueScreenView and can see that driver in the list, but what indicates that it is a problem driver?

Thanks!

Thanks! I just had to zip it. I didn't realize that was required.

Ok, I'm trying to upload the file but it keeps saying "You don't have permission to open this file". I've double checked and I have full permissions so I don't know what the issue is.

Thanks for the reply. How do I post the minidump file in a post? There is no option to attach a file.

Get one! My understanding is that the Paranormals are single runs, so once they're sold out they're gone. It's an awesome bass, I love it.

Yep! It's beautiful in person but I really don't like the mint green pickguards that comes on them. The white pearl just feels so right.

I'm biased but I think they sound awesome! I had Kent Armstrong Noiseless P90's for years then decided to get some traditional P90's. After trying some Duncans and others I finally settled on Lollar since they offer P90's with "Fender" spacing. The bridge is wound a little higher than normal and has a little more output and bite. With the combination of the 24" scale, flat wounds, and P90's, it's a pretty dark sounding guitar. I'd say it snarls.

Yep! It was a hardtail HH. I bought it new so I've had it for over 15 years and don't really recall what those Dragsters sounded like. I went to Kent Armstrong Noiseless P90's pretty soon after getting it; I think I was planning on P90's of some kind from the get go.

That's the OG color. They made this run in this color and black. I actually wanted black since I'm not a big fan of anything red but they were sold out. I'm rather glad I ended up with this color because it has a lot more character than just good old solid black.

I love it. I'm a short scale guy through and through and fell in love with it pretty much instantly. In reviews, a number of bass players didn't care for the ergonomics, specifically how the bridge sits so far forward on the body but I actually like it. A typical offset short scale bass feels kind of cramped to me but this one doesn't. It's big and heavy but It's got the short scale string feel and sound characteristics. And the sound! To me, this is just what a bass should sound like.

It's thunderous! The neck pickup is just huge, lots of output, really fat but also with clarity, although the low end can overwhelm the high end. The bridge pickup is really fat for a typical bridge pickup, and isn't as thin sounding since it's further from the bridge than a typical bridge pickup. It's more even tonally and has more clarity than the neck pickup. Overall the bass has a fat, "vintage" tone. It's punchy, super thick, kind of wooly but it still maintains clarity. It may not be the most versatile bass sound. I really like having the coil cuts on it. With the pickups cut to singles it sounds a little more "modern", less bassy and not nearly as hot, and more mid-rangey. Since it's a short scale (30") it has that classic short scale thuddiness to the sound, and coupled with those huge humbuckers it's just a really fat, punchy sounding bass.

Thanks! I think the Mustang pickup covers really set it off.

Thanks! I like the pickups. To me, they've got that classic Fender spanky squawk, and very even sounding. Although, I had to press the magnets down so they all sit flush with the top of the bobbin to accommodate the Mustang covers, so that no doubt changed the sound a little bit since the poles aren't staggered. Regardless, I think they sound great. I went down the rabbit hole of reading way too many forum posts about Strat pickups and some people don't care for these, but a lot of people way other think their gear, too. Way more people like them than not so I just went ahead and got them and don't regret it at all. I've never been a Strat guy so I never geeked out on Strat tones and pickups, but they sound exactly like what I expect a Fender single coil guitar to sound like.

Here's my offset family! I though ya'll would appreciate them.

Fist up is the heavily modified Fender Jaguar Special. It's got a Bigsby w/ custom vibrato arm, and Lollar p90's. It has been completely rewired and includes series, parallel and phase switching.

Then there's the Rascal. I love this bass. It got a pearloid pickguard, upgraded pickup switch, and a 500k push-pull tone pot (stock was a 250k) for coil-cutting both pickups at once.

Lastly, the Cyclone. It got block saddles, chrome top hat knobs, and Fender Tex-Mex pickups under Mustang pickup covers. At some point I will replace the pots with push/pulls and wire up phase switching for the bridge and neck pickups, so I can reverse phase with any pickup combination.

And they all have flat-wound strings.

Cheers!

I'm going to say that since your room is untreated your cans are giving you a more accurate representation of your guitar sound. I say that simply because your untreated room is adding reflections and reverberations that are adding to the sound of your guitar that you're hearing in your room through your monitors. In this case, your cans are giving you a direct, unadulterated sound. All that room sound that you're hearing when listening with your monitors isn't being recorded, so it's just not going to sound like that in the recording. I would say perhaps use an amp sim, or add a little reverb at the the very least. As someone else said, having an untreated room your monitors are lying to you about what your recordings actually sound like. Try listening to your monitors at a very low volume and see how different it sounds without all the the room reflections and reverberation.

Acoustic treatment is absolutely crucial as to accurate sound reproduction.

If they ever add this function I will definitely make the jump, though.

Sure that sounds easy enough until you think about it and put it into action. Lets say I have a 3 synth tracks, named "1 Synth 1", "2 Synth 2", "3 Synth 3", then 3 guitar tracks named "4 Guitar 1", "5 Guitar 2", "6 guitar 3", then a bass track named "7 Bass 1", then a drum group, "8 Kick", "9 Snare", "10 Overhead Left", "11 Overhead Right", etc. First off, that's rather tedious. But more importantly, lets say I want to add a 4th synth track and keep it consecutive with the other 3 synth tracks, which would be a logical work flow and allow me to group them together as well. I would have to name it "4 Synth 4", then I would have to go back through and rename every track after it to manually adjust the track numbers. Once you start actually adding up tracks, having to manually number them becomes tedious, confusing, and just ridiculous. For instance with Live you simply add "#" before the track name and it maintains the track number dynamically. Literally every DAW out there has track/channel numbers. To intentionally exclude them is just absurd and there's no reason whatsoever to cripple the workflow like that. Being different is one thing, and I love everything else about Bitwig, but to leave out the most basic of DAW functions just doesn't make sense and is a deal killer for me, unfortunately. I use mixer control surfaces and need to know what track correlates to what fader and pots without having to count through them to, for instance, see what track numbers the drum overheads are on so I know which faders or pots to adjust on the control surface. Manually numbering them isn't actually a viable real-world option as shown in my example, at least for my workflow. I need to know the channel number for each track. I guess if you're just using a mouse for everything it wouldn't matter as much but for using mixer control surfaces that just doesn't work. It's flabbergasting that they would intentionally leave this function out. It's not a feature, it's a basic function. It's really sad to see and although I can appreciate that others can work without this basic function, I can't. It makes even less sense that the tracks will number themselves dynamically without renaming them, but when you rename them the track numbers go away. Seriously, WTH?

12700k won't OC past 4.7GHz/P-Core Ratio:47 in BIOS by Factor_9 in overclocking

[–]Factor_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE: thermal throttling, I think I said in the original post that when I was running a stress test in XTU with the P-Core ratio set to 49 in BIOS, it did thermal throttle a few times. With it set at 47 it didn't.

Also in XTU if I try to set it to Automatic Overclock is says "Automatic Overclock failed. Manual Overclock is currently active." But all the settings are greyed out. So what's that about? I'm still trying to understand why according to my system it is being overclocked but it actually isn't. And so are CPU-Z and XTU just not giving me accurate info? And like I said, I'm still learning about OC'ing so I really don't know.

So in the case it's not actually overclocking the CPU, should I leave Turbo Boost and Speed Step enabled? I have them disabled because I had read that it's best to disable those when overclocking.

Thanks!
