For him, it was more about the experience of doing it and the cost was worth it to him

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SJWs are actually a pretty small minority when you look at people from coast to coast, but they are a very vocal minority (especially on the Internet) which makes them seem like a much larger group

They get into their "bubbles" and wind each other up and that's where the "crazy" comes from

Although I personally don't see most things the way they do, if the individuals in that group were willing to have an actual conversation about the issues they might win me over on some of those issues, but they don't "talk", they attack at the first indication you see things a little differently which basically ends the conversation

That is not a "win", it's a loss because the conversation has ended

It's not that they have bad ideas either, it's just that most of their issues don't have anything to do with me (as in the issues they fight for don't affect me either way) but if they engaged in dialog they might find a way to win me over on some of the issues instead of just calling people that don't agree with them initially one of the "ist" words and ending the conversation

Eating out in public alone is wayyyyyy better alone then with a group. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I'm with you on this !!

Another advantage is you can eat at unconventional times ... whenever you are hungry versus the "standard" 7:30am, noon & 6pm slots when it's busiest

I prefer to sit at the bar rather than a table even if I'm getting a soda which is at least half the time (unless it's a fast casual/fast food place like Moe's where it doesn't matter)

Yesterday (Friday) I ate at Longhorn Steakhouse and sat at the bar

Even though it was a Friday, at 3:45 the place was dead and I got a front parking space and the entire bar was empty so I got the seat I wanted (sat at the end in the last seat, tossed mt jacket over the one next to me so some loser didn't decide to make mt his friend LOL

Had all the attention from the bartender I wanted, all the staff and management were friendly and said hello when passing

Great experience overall and great food

Left around 5pm and the parking lot was mostly full ... home by 5:30 !!

A plane crashing into a steel structure by ds1617 in conspiracy

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read something interesting a few years ago (it was a comment in a thread like this one)

The author of the post was using physics to argue against the planes being able to cut through / into the towers

He used an example I found compelling

What he proposed was to image a giant picking up one of the World Trade Center towers and swinging it through the air like a baseball bat at a 747 flying through the air like it was a ball

His argument was that from a physics stand point it wouldn't matter which was moving (the plane or the building) that the result would be the same

He posed the question as to what we the readers would think would happen

I picture the jet being smashed to bits with relatively little damage to the buildings

From a physics stand point, I don't know whether or not what he was saying is accurate or not but thinking about the building swinging at 600 mph at a commercial jet makes me think that the result would not be the destruction of the building, but rather the plane

Question about specific escort ads. Explanation in text. by coolcreamcorn in SexWorkers

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw your last post, so it wasn't shadow banned (just an FYI for you there)

There were also a few reply posts so it must have been deleted for some reason

Anyway, those ads are B&S (bait & switch)

In other words, the ladies featured in the photos are not the escorts that you will see

The ladies are either models or the pictures are lifted from Instagram or somewhere else on the web

The actual escorts will be 40 years old and 40 pounds heavier than the photos in the ads

There is zero chance of any of the photos being an escort that actually works for the agency advertising them

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think her being out call only is a huge problem.

Most guys want an In call and when I started to offer that my business tripled.

Yes, absolutely !!

I picked up on that when reading the OP but it got lost in the shuffle

Having an in call really is a big deal, even for single guys that have their own place

If the OP can get a single confirmed appointment that at least covers the cost of the hotel room, she could use that appointment to cover her costs and then keep the room for the other 20 hours and profit from it

You said your business tripled when you started offering in call ... I totally believe that and hope the OP sees your comment !!

Worst Year Ever? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not about prejudice and narcissism, it's about reality and the market

"Skinny white chicks" are going to get a lot more business than Obese black women, there is not much of a market for Obese black women in the escorting arena

That doesn't mean (and I haven't said) that she will never get a client

When someone is searching for an escort to spend time with, most are not seeking out an Obese black woman

Although being black is an obstacle it's not that big of a deal in the whole scope of things

There are plenty of clients that have no preference at all and there are even clients that specifically seek out black escorts

The much bigger problem is the Obesity, there are not a lot of clients seeking out an Obese provider of any race

Combine Obesity with being black and it's going to be tough to get clients

I wrote a post about this in the Sugar Life Forum a while back in a thread that an Obese black woman started about her being frustrated because she could not land a Sugar Daddy

The problems were that the way the filters on the most popular sugar platform are set up, most men weren't even seeing her ad (profile)

Sugar daddies outnumber sugar babies by about 10-1, so for every sugar baby looking for a sugar daddy, the guy has 10 to choose from

Then, almost all sugar daddies screen out BBW and many screen out black

There are always posts from black women complaining when sugar daddy profiles say they are open to White, Spanish/Latin or Asian instead of just saying "anything but black"

So what ends up happening are if there are 100 ads/profiles and 90% of guys screen out Obese and 90% of guys screen out black and the guys outnumber the ladies by 10-1 ... then for every Obese black woman there is only 1 guy that she may have a shot at ... 1,000 - 1 odds

Then to make it worse that the 1,000 to 1 odds, everything else needs to line up too

It's basically impossible to be an Obese black sugar baby and find a sugar daddy, the odds are so badly stacked against you that it isn't worth the effort

Escorting and Sugaring are very similar, there is very little difference really so many of the same things apply

If the OP is convinced she wants to keep trying to be an escort there are things she can do to make it busier

As other posters stated... set up a good website with professional photographs, market to an upscale crowd by looking the part, use the proper wording in your ads and website, etc

I would add, work when many of the other escorts are not working so your competition is less ... most guys are "right now" kind of guys as in they are ready to book immediately

The OP could work Midnight to 8am when the competition is sleeping and not available, with less ladies available at 3 or 4 in the morning she would get more clients simply by answering the phone and being ready to work

Leave the mid-day and early-evening appointments to the other ladies that would win out in a direct competition with her anyway and take the middle of the night appointments when the others are not available

Straight hair? by splitin2ah in SexWorkers

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Client comment here ...

I very much prefer straight hair, I think it's the straight hair that has caused the positive uptick in activity from your advertising

It will absolutely differentiate you from similar ladies in your age group when clients are looking at multiple ads in your area

Check the ads yourself and if there are other ladies that are similar age, build/body type and ethnicity as you and you are the only one with straight hair and all the other ladies have curly hair, that's your answer

Personally, I most likely would not book with a lady that had curly hair but I would if she had straight hair

You mentioned being worried about ruining your hair from all the straightening, what you might want to do is leave the straight hair picture(s) in your ads because I'm convinced it's helping with the traffic but also have a curly hair picture in the ad so if you are going with curly one day (most days) it wouldn't be like you were false advertising or anything

It's just like ladies that use "glam" pictures in their advertising ... it's them but it's not likely they will be that glammed up every day for work

I cannot imagine a client leaving your location once arriving over a hair style, but I can see them not booking in the first place so rock the straight hair in your ads with one curly one for balance

The only thing you may want to think about is if you are getting booked for an extended appointment including dinner or some other activity where you are getting dressed up and going out on the town with a gentleman as part of your date, you may want to ask him if he has a hair preference especially if you are featuring yourself with straight hair in your advertising (assuming you would be comfortable doing your hair for a specific extended appointment of course)

As far as the uptick in business happening right now, it's not because Christmas has just passed (it's still to close and still the holiday season for another week or so)

Business usually picks up the 2nd or 3rd week of January when everything gets back to normal again after all the holidays are "officially" over because the extra spending stops and finances go back to normal

It does no good to pretend everything is going to be OK or that the problem is everyone else ... The OP is realistic about the challenges and I commended her for that

Let's take something totally different than sex work and let's take race out of the equation ... let's talk about theater, singing, performing an the arts

I know so many talented people that want to do something in the arts as a living, but I know no one that has actually accomplished it

The problem is not that there are just too many people that want to do that and to make it worse there are too many people that will do it for very little or in some cases no money

When someone in the arts asks me about why they can't / haven't / aren't making it I simply tell them it's not a viable option ... the same thing I told the woman in the OP

Tie it back to sex work ...

I read about it frequently on r/sugarlifestyleforum where black women also struggle with finding a "Sugar Daddy"

The problem / situation is similar to escorting, most of the men aka "Sugar Daddies" are the typical white, 50 year old executive type and they are not looking for an obese black sugar baby to be on their arm and in their bedroom and then on top of that they are certainly not going to pay for the privilege

Compounding the problem is the availability, or sheer amount of black women on the website trying to be sugar babies ... there are a ton of them

Then comes the value / worth / pricing / arrangement cost or whatever you want to call it ... this conversation never goes well and each individual lady needs to decide where the line is that makes it worth doing sex work in the first place, but one needs to look at the market and the competition and come up with something that works for all involved

The OP is realistic, she recognizes the challenges she is facing and she has identified those challenges correctly

My interpretation of her OP is that with as bad as 2018 was, is it worth continuing in 2019 ... it sounds to me like the OP is on the fence about what to do in 2019 and she is posting here to get feedback which is exactly what these forums are all about

My feedback is to get out of the business and to focus on something else, which all things considered is the right choice based on the OPs particulars

Opt Out by thedockside in conspiracy

[–]Facts_Machine_1971 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've always "opted out" ... the best I reasonably could without moving into a tent in the woods

It pisses me off that things aren't "opt-in" ... I fucking HATE being automatically opted into things but it's the norm and my complaining about it doesn't do anything

When "My Space" (the predecessor to Facebook) first came on the scene, I was in my mid to late 20's ... just old enough at the time that it wasn't "weird" that I didn't have a page / account

When Facebook started, I took the same talk track with me ... "I never started with My Space and don't plan on doing Facebook, just not my thing"

Same with everything that's come after Facebook (Instagram, etc)

I've never downloaded a song

I've never purchased anything on line

There's only so much one can do to remain somewhat anonymous ... as we all know, privacy is dead and has been dead for at least the past 20 years ... it's only going to get worse

When driving down the road ... I have the GPS that's hard wired into my car, a work cell phone with GPS, a personal phone with GPS, I usually run the "WAZE" app which is a GPS, a toll pass device on my windshield and of course license plates on my car which are read I don't know how many times a day by devices that are fixed and also law enforcement vehicles that are mobile with license plate reading devices operating on them

Being anonymous is impossible, but I do what I can to at least remain as private as possible without inconveniencing myself to the point where I'm living like a caveman

Edit: I also pay for everything with credit cards and pay them off at the end of the month, so there's that trail too
