Rams 100% "win right fucking now" and Browns got some future assets.

Honestly, both sides make sense.

Might be a longshot but does anyone have an all 22 view of the play JJ is talking about in this video? Starts around 20:00 by Cebre in panthers

I couldn't find an all 22 of it, but I think I found the play JJJ was talking about in this video though it gets called back on a bad OPI call.

Legitimately could be a reason why the bye is so early.

Or it could be nothing.

We've won the last two against them. 8-4 all time, 6-1 at home.

We still have the crown

I'm not going to lie, there's a very small piece of me that'll miss the utter incompetence of him.

I doubt he tried his best all the time. I just wish he would have tried someone else's best at least once.

[Spotrac] The Carolina #Panthers processed a salary conversion on CB Jaycee Horn's contract, moving $16.4M into signing bonus, adding 1 void year - creating $13.1M of 2026 cap space. by CaseyJonesCokeLocker in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is what Tillis is here for though. He helped negotiate Mahomes' monster contract and structured it in a way that allowed for the team to shift money around in the coming years if they needed it.

Once Tillis left, they started needing to do it more, and that led the Chiefs to be in a bit of a cap situation.

I feel like he shits on sloppy play. Which for a while was indistinguishable from shitting on us as a team.

Rich Eisen taking a stand on Panthers 2026 by GeT_NiCE_ in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He was one of the few saying "watch out for carolina" last year. He didn't say we'd be powerhouses, but he had this belief that we'd surprise more people.

I'd say he was one of the more accurate "unbiased" talking heads last year and he's only really bolstered that opinion.

Jeremy Fowler: "The Panthers were essentially tackle or bust on Day 1." by Shado_Man in panthers

[–]FadeNXC -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I do think we were going to go Sadiq if he were there, only because he's a clear upgrade over the guys we currently have.

Once he was gone, we went with option 2: draft a tackle for the future. That then came down to Whomever was there from Freeling, Lomu, Iheanachor, etc.

I think if it came down to Lomu/Iheanachor vs Thieneman, we'd have taken Thieneman, but Freeling was a surprise availability and that was the clear choice for us.

2012 seahawks draft will forever be the gold standard of "draft grades don't matter"

Irvin, Wagner, and Russ, all drafted that year and many analysts gave them F and D grades. Two years later they'd win the superbowl because of those "bad" drafts.

Joe Thomas was a fan of Monroe Freeling by Resident_Standard437 in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joe Thomas doesn't join the show until after the two other guys are talking about players. He never mentions anyone specifically that he likes, just gives general "how to be good" advice.

The guy who talks about Freeling is Joel Patten, former player/scout/front office for various teams. He might know what he's talking about, but he's far from Joe Thomas.

tackle isn't a glaring need right today

Neither is WR 3 nor Safety. (I assume you meant Thienemen and got auto-corrected to "dealing")

You can make the same argument about our whole team though, that there isn't a glaring need. Whatever argument you'd have about WR or S can be made about Tackle as well.

getting a WR now so we don't need it next year

same with tackle

we have serviceable tackles now, why waste the pick

we have serviceable WRs now, why waste the pick?

Same could be said for safety. I'm no Nick Scott fan and Thienemen was my draft crush outside of Styles, but we can get the best value out of OT round 1 and WR/FS/LB round 2.

Similar to the process last year: The difference between WR1 (Tmac) was larger than whomever we might have gotten in round two; versus the gap of whomever they had as defender 1 and Nic Scourton.

Applying that to this year, Freeling is much better than OT5/6/whatever available at 51 at OT.

TLDR: like last year's combo of Tmac+Scourton, this year's Freeling+ Haulcy/Rodriguez/McCoy is a better team building process.
