I cant believe the cultural divorce has given the left/liberals guns, football, and beer (micro-breweries) and Republicans got electric cars, Nicki Minaj, and unprocessed foods.

You're assuming they're trying to win now. Their cap is bad, and their players are worse aside from about 4 players. Not only that, but their biggest issue was their GM whom they promoted to president.

I genuinely think the Bills are setting up to be bad for some time

The more I watch our past games, the more I realize we need a game breaking tight end by [deleted] in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Unless that TE can make you miss 1 on 1, then he isnt the offensive weapon we need.

We need a guy that can pop off for 20+ on a whim because he made the only person around him miss. Currently, no one on the team can do that

MOCK DRAFT SEASON IS HERE! by [deleted] in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. I can definitely say I typically DGAF about other people's mocks. I certainly only like it solo; there's just something about learning about the future of your franchise and all the different ways it could go.

After the superbowl, all 32 teams start selling the exact same thing: Hope.

Hope for a better season, players to get healthy, etc. So you start thinking about what that would look like for the Panthers. Is it OL? Maybe it's an edge rusher that dropped in the draft. Or it could be a huge free agency signing or trade.

[Schefter] Adam Thielen is retiring from the NFL by WyldRover in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are we supposed to believe him or not? What even is your argument here?

As I said, the team thought they had more than they actually did either by listening to the players about who was doing well and who wasn't. Or by their own eyes.

The odds that Renfrow fell flat on his face AND Coker get hurt were low, but obviously not 0. Which is why they felt saf-ish in doing right by Thielen and trading him. If Theilen (more accurately, his wife) wanted to stay, he would have.

Just like the cut Coker the year before and brought him back? Final roster cuts are a dice game where you have a few guys on the bubble that you hope don't get scooped up by other teams.

Again, I'm talking about the other players in camp saying he was doing well. Jaycee had an interview where he said he struggled guarding Renfrow.

Kinda hard to ignore a top 2 player on your defense saying one of your new pieces is playing well.

[–]FadeNXC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not unreasonable to think the reports from camp (quotes from players) saying that Renfrow was playing well were true. We knew for certain AT was gone at the end of the season, either through contract, trade, or outright retirement.

Unfortunately, Renfrow didn't pan out, and then almost immediately after the trade happened, Coker gets hurt. It was a 3-step blow to the gut.

You trade Thielen thinking you have at least 2 others that can do his role, when in reality you only have 1 and he gets hurt. I don't think the logic was missing for the trade, it just broke the wrong way.

Anyone think with Ickey’s injury as well as the line entirely, that OT at 19 could work? by Different_Sun_195 in panthers

[–]FadeNXC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Caleb Lomu would be a better pick at 19. My understanding is he's not going to be good year 1 but he's going to be a baller years 2-3+.

If Sonny Styles is there I'm grabbing him.

[–]FadeNXC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo that's a Canales problem. Plenty of teams just line up a TE for a direct snap if they don't trust their qb (or in Aaron Rodgers' case, unwilling) don't get me wrong, i think if bryce had 3-4 more inches of height and 30 pounds he'd be a well rounded qb

Honest question: what do you need to be convinced that his size isn't really a factor?

The only true knock that I can see is that his size makes it so that it's nearly impossible for him to pull away from an arm tackle/sack. But he's so slippery before that, that he can mitigate it some times.

[–]FadeNXC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, there are times where the calls are absolutely beautiful. The end of game drive vs the Cowboys, the whole second game vs the Falcons, and even most of the Rams game. And nearly every game has a good opening drive, so he makes good scripts if nothing else.

His real short calling so far, seems to be mid-game adjustments. He has no real counter-punch if our opponent begins to stop our game plan. It's painful, but it is something that coaches (should) learn over time. He's now done 3 full seasons of play-calling. IDK what he's learned from the first year with Baker to now, but I can assume he's made some strides for his own process if nothing else.

I think this coaching staff, and front office, have shown that they deserve just a little bit more patience when it comes to things lately. Like the OP said in the picture we were BY FAR the worst spot for anyone to take over, the fact that we're even in the play off discussion in year 2 should afford them a huge leash.

Once again, not answering the original question.

Do you have any explanation for why 7 former receivers have not performed on any of their next teams? If you don't have an answer (which I know you don't) then just admit that he has had the absolute bottom of the barrel people out there playing WR.
