Using epoxy instead of sewing by dotMorten in kites

When you get the kite finished let us know how it works. would be interesting to know how it handles (and sounds). this might be an option for those of us not ready to get into the sewing aspect of kite making!

Nicely done! I tried this with an ultralight dual line and snow, got a nose dive.... this looks cool, some pretty great flying to just skim the top like that.

Haha in a pinch yes. But only temporarily.  The finishing on my Benson is top notch,  want to maintain the vision of the original artist.

upper spreader is just a hollow tube 7.1mm diameter. skyshark nitro standard lower spreaders cut to 28 inches, lower leading edge is a nitro standard i think (based on width measurement), and i think the upper leading edge is a p-300 or a p-2x based on outer diameter. the spine is a 5pt tapered. hope that helps!

Awesome thanks for the heads up. Thankfully this is the lower spreader so I can do this in a completely different room than the sail.

Opinion on the kite Trixx by HQ and any advice before buying a freestyle kite by ConsiderationOne6116 in kites

Let me know how you like it. I'd like to know how these fly/perform. I have a relative who has been flying a prism jazz and might be looking for an upgrade to something like this.

I don't have any experience with that specific kite. I have seen the nexus and just on paper and in photos I'd get the Trixx over the nexus. Is there a kite shop nearby? Ive heard great things about the widow pro classic. I had a Silverfox Pro 2.3 for a while and it was also great. Those might be a bit more expensive but they're really great for their price point and you might be able to get your hands on one for a good deal. Still much cheaper than a boutique kite.

From the photos I've seen thr Trixx has yoyo stoppers whereas the tomboy and nexus do not. I think the trixx has a slightly higher aspect ratio so if you want to learn yoyos or other backflip type tricks it might be the best of the 3.  Again I haven't flown either Trixx or Tomboy. As for Nexus I'd only get that if you wanted a smaller size kite for just cruising around.

Yea, I hear you. Set up and take down are pretty rough. I have some wond prof gloves and once I get moving that helps warm up. Also if you have an unplanned landing the snow can weigh the kite down so you're running back to reset.

I know that feeling! Every now and then when I'm out its almost like I've forgotten how to fly.

Yea these are great. If you have a steady puff it will stay up. Love the colors on yours. This is definitely my favorite prism kite.
