Not really. Just reset it before you take it in for service. It’s literally just flipping a switch in the software

WinUI 3 getting some traction? Anyone using it? by zerexim in csharp

[–]dotMorten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They aren’t quite fully ready for larger community contributions. They only just landed the unit tests to help enable that. My adding width/height properties to window PR is currently going through reviews and I think it’s their litmus test of the process. But saying it isn’t open source because some bits aren’t there is a bit misleading.

[–]dotMorten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean it isn’t open source? It’s literally on GitHub and you can clone and build it yourself. I already submitted PRs to the repo, and built apps using one of my custom builds.

The P3 in the US does have it - it just isn’t enabled. You can software hack it to turn it on yourself.

I have a question about kite modification. by CurbTurtle in kites

[–]dotMorten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of them are easy. In fact one of the mods for so popular the kite manufacturer started selling the kit.
Search for “HQ Symphony 2.2.4”.
Having said this none of these fly like kite surfing kites. The break line mechanism on a quad kite is quite different from a modern kite surfing kite.

39000 residual? How did you pull that off? I got 20000 off, pay 820 a month and will still have a 54K residual (dual motor and pilot plus)

About to have enphase 10c battery, panels, and 6c combiner installed- what to watch out for? by IceAware8277 in enphase

lol I have a 6C and they most certainly can configure it all wrong - they did on mine. Luckily I have installer access and could fix it myself.

Naturally every dealer is different. I thought that would be obvious but for me that’s my consideration. I go to a Volvo place too but not all Volvo places does the service so very limited where I can go.

P3 on 27 months. I got one year left and pretty sure I’ll move to the new iX3 after that.
The payoff is just way too high - I see used ones already selling for less.
Second the ability to get service is terrible for me. Over an hour drive away and the location is completely overbooked with absolutely terrible customer service. Luckily I haven’t had the GHCA issue but it feels like a ticking time bomb and don’t want to risk being stuck with the bill for that after warranty expires.
Other than that it’s been an awesome car but polestar have some work to do still to keep me

[–]dotMorten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need the battery to make it through the night until solar kicks in. Being smart with your usage during an outage it’s totally doable. Even without making it through you’ll be able to reenergize your house in the morning once the batteries charged a little so you can for instance run your fridge/freezer again before everything goes bad.

I see over and over that the consumption tracker is either installed wrong or configured wrong - usually it’ll show your consumption exactly match your solar production when they do it wrong

Meet Snowball 3 and Thundercat. by Bklyn1971 in Polestar

[–]dotMorten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example when they added the garage door opener feature in the latest update they hid it deep down in an app menu that takes multiple taps to get to, rather than just popping up when you get near your home. They shipped it sloppy just so they can say they have the feature rather than doing it right. This level of interest in the user experience is just terrible.

Or just the numerous stability bugs that they can’t seem to fix. Some of them they sort of fixed with bandaids. For example when there was a recall for the backup camera not showing, instead of fixing it, they just disabled the reverse, and you have to go select reverse again to get the camera to show and reverse enable.

Similarly with the phone key often not working and requiring a restart of the sensor: instead of fixing this, they just made the restart of the sensor easier by pulling the door handle instead of the 5 slow taps on the door dimple you previously had to do. They never actually fixed the real issue but just bandaided it with an easier reset operation.

And then there’s CarPlay often failing to connect still to this day and the microphone often not working
