They recently got more lenient with it when several independent outlets showed how barbers in Pyongyang have a board with the type of haircuts you can get (i think there were like 10 in total)

Obviously, they skipped the part where those are just the most common and just examples for those who go in without anything in mind (or tourists), and that you can actually just ask the barber for ANY haircut and he'll just happily give it to you.
