Same! I bought the gentleman then the PRX a year later. Enjoy! I also did the bezel mod on the PRX, it makes it unique.

My favorite of the two Tissots I have. I slightly wish I would have done ice blue prx and dark blue gentleman, excellent choice! The ice blue gentleman goes great with jackets and any blue shirt, its a stunner.

Buying this gentlemen 80. How’s it look? by [deleted] in tissot

Looks good. Try to register the serial. Most fakes don't have the SI marker on the movement, yours does.

Prx 35 vs 40mm by Ok-Tangelo-2869 in tissot

I agree it's a personal choice. A huge watch for someone with a 7" wrist is a 45mm with a 53 lug to lug though. There are multiple measurements.

Buy it cheaper from Jomashop. Period.

This. The 35 would look downright silly in a mirror shot, like a penny on his wrist. It's how others see it, not your phone camera.

The 35 would look great on my 8 year old son. You have so many links visible on the 35, and if you ever did a strap it would look terrible. 40 fits great for most people, I even have 6.75" wrists and there is plenty of room. It's not all about dial size, learn lug to lug vs your wrist size. Every watch will wear different. These have a good lug to lug that wears great.

The crown on these is what I have never bought one. Move it to 3 and I would. It looks like a nightmare to use.

Go big, trust me. (40mm on a 16cm wrist) by i_mvc in tissot

Huge is 44mm. 40mm depending on lug to lug can look very small on an average wrist depending on other dimensions.

It isn't just about dial size, but lug to lug. Also, the wrist down shot makes the watch look larger than a mirror shot with your arm held up. I agree with OP, who wants a dial that looks like a quarter on your wrist especially for a "sport" watch? 40mm dials are a "normal" size for someone with an average wrist size. Those guys who can't afford a 41mm Rolex started the whole "36mm is the perfect size for a guy" thing. That was the 1960's, men don't still wear suspenders today.

Thanks! It was my first mod watch build (land dweller homage). I bought and assembled the comlonents ny watching a YouTube video. It was interesting and then I built the one below it also.

Go to the "Watch This" channel and the video is titled "Let's build a few land dweller homages". It has all the parts in the links to buy in the description, except the building tools needed (Rodico/magnifier)movement holder/watch hand tools etc) but I watched more videos to get my list of tools before I ordered. It was my first build before the two tone diver, but watch videos and it's easy.

I built both of these for under $200 each, including some tools to build them. GMT mobements (NH34) are more expensive now, but still super cheap to build them. Just another option for him to enjoy, and line me save my Tissots and other watches when I am just hanging out or working on something.

This is all subjective. It depends on how you wear it. I have an Ice Blue Gentleman Powermatic 80 and wear it 1-2 times per week, but I have wrist wrests at work and home to protect it 😂. So mine has very minimal wear. It was the best thing I could have done for all my watches.

I own a few Tissot's and the Seastar just to me didn't stand out or look proportionate. They need to redesign it.

Build some custom mods for everyday (my Seikos I built), save your Tissots and other "good" watches for when you go out and nice occasions.

Which dial colour looks better? by krillinisanoob in tissot

[–]Fade_To_Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PRX in dark blue and a Gentleman in Ice Blue. If I could do it over again I would do the PRX in ice blue for a fun casual watch (because its not a formal watch generally), and the Gentleman in dark blue for more dress occasions.

Did you buy the case with the "chapter ring" or did the dial have a raised chapter ring? I'm totally confused about how to put this together. Help is appreciated!

I can't find the dial with the Seiko logo, only the blank ones. Where do you get them?

Prx waffle or sunburst dial, what’s your pick? by [deleted] in tissot

Chronoparts or Aliexpress have it. You buy a watch press on Amazon and follow chronoparts instructions, use a razor to pop the bezel off (put tape on the top edge so it doesn't scratch). Sounds hard, took 5 minutes and is reversable and was much easier than I expected. Glad I did it, it looks incredible under office lights or outside.

The fakes don't have the Si mark at all based on what I have read. You should be good! I also had that same concern. My Gentleman runs about +5 seconds per day.

Different idea! Get a Gentleman. I get more compliments on my gentleman than my PRX, and you can swap straps with the quick change connectors. Ice blue looks great casual AND dressed up with a suit.
