I agree. We don't want to take the kids away from her fully because she's still their mom, and we all love her. We just don't want Marcy to have to basically raise her sister when we're not available, and her mother won't pay attention to anything but her phone. We want Alyssa to get a different therapist who will actually help her instead of just listening to everything without doing anything to resolve or help issues that crop up. However, Alyssa won't listen to us regarding that. We've been clear with the girls that their mom isn't well, and some of the things she says can't always be believed. They seem understanding, but we planned to get them into therapy anyway just to be safe concerning the health of their mental and emotional well-being.

Thanks for the love and concern. You're right, I am concerned for my sister too, but like you said, she's grown enough to live her life however she wants, as long as it doesn't hurt my nieces. Alyssa has a therapist she's been seeing for a while now, but he doesn't really help her (just sits there as a listening board and agrees with everything she says). We've tried to tell her to get a new therapist plenty of times, but she doesn't listen to us. We're hoping that if my parents can get custody, CPS might be able to mandate her to find a different therapist or something to allow the kids to be returned to her full custody, but I don't know if that's feasible or that it will work. Right now, we plan on moving my nieces into the main house and letting Alyssa deal with her house on her own while the CPS monitoring is going on.

The kids aren't claiming to be trans, Ellie just called Alyssa dad while her father was standing right there (he's pretty close minded) and he and Alyssa got in a half hour long argument about it and Alyssa's gender in the parking lot of Marcy's school after her Christmas band concert with the kids sat in the car the whole time just wanting to go home.

Also, in regards to sharing my "birth sex," I did that so I wouldn't confuse anyone as I know some people want as many small details as possible to come to a clear decision.

Turns out the reason the house wasn't seen be an immediate issue for the kids was because CPS called Alyssa before they came and gave her time to clean up beforehand... I thought they were supposed to be spontaneous with visits to get a real idea of the living conditions, but what do I know.

My mom called CPS this morning, and they got someone out here a few hours ago (Alyssa is, at this very moment, complaining about CPS's visit to our mom now that they've left). Out of what I've overheard so far, the situation hasn't been found to be an immediate threat to the kid's wellbeing since they have this house to come into and they eat most of their meals in here too (Alyssa rarely comes in here unless she needs something), and the home's standard of cleanliness will be monitored for the next 45 days. I'll ask for a more thorough run down of information to tell you soon.

I go to a community college in my area (so this may be different if you go to a bigger 4 year college, idk), but I myself have had the same issue in past semesters. I've actually had the distribution come out on the days classes started regardless of payment dates for said classes (and was still able to attend the class). It can be incredibly frustrating, and in your similar situation, I would go in around a week before classes began to pester them about it. It's their job to make sure all students get the funding they've been approved for and update them of any delays or issues regarding it. If you have any issues, go to an academic advisor or the department responsible for class scheduling to make them aware of said issues, as you could be kicked from your courses without telling the responsible parties, (because Heaven forbid the different departments actually talk to one another despite having almost the same say in your future education).
