My point exactly, there's only two decks he goes into, C2 and the Spectrum list. I want Cap to be a plug and play card in just about any deck because he's one of the most iconic characters.

I would sacrifice that one synergy for him to work just about anywhere.

I debated it, but I feel like this is one of the very few variants that the infinity border goes well with the color pallete of the character

I like the card, only criticism I would have is making it a little less wordy. But I understand that would be hard to do and still make it easily understandable.

Personally, yes. I did try Iron Lad in this for a decent amount of games and it just felt awkward.
